    Teacher Strike

Yup, how mentioned long school holidays as something thats dated. One of the most successful Asian countries in terms of education is Singapore. They only get 4 weeks off in the simmer (all of June), but they get another 6 weeks in the winter (from half way through November until the end of...

Sorry, but you're clueless. I now work in an nternational school. We have kids that have been through the states schools of various countries. Most of the kids we get from Eastern European state schools have little English, we have to teach it to them. Eastern European adults have good English...

    Teacher Strike

Your table top research is inaccurate for many reasons: 1) You have not taken into account the work (marking, preperation etc) done during the holidays. 2) You have used an average salary which takes into account the much bigger salaries of senior management and heads, the median salaray is...

    Teacher Strike

What difference does that make?? That day is still a school holiday. Legislation states the number of days a year children must be in school. The number of days that teachers are contracted to work is higher than this. Those are the INSET days. It isn't rocket science.

OT - Is there any way in the UK to trace the owner of a mobile phone?

It depends on a lot. It's easier with contract numbers and can be difficult to impossible with PAYG numbers. The police can sometimes (but not always) do it if a crime has been committed from it. When I had incidences of kids being bullied by text the easiest way was usually just to phone it...

    Teacher Strike

Because it's a holiday. Teachers get paid for a set amount of hours/days a year, they don't actually get paid for their holidays (they get money DURING the holiday because their annual salary is divided by 12 and paid in equal installments). Would YOU take unpaid leave during your holidays for...

Yes, but that's an accident, so A&E is the right place. I've had to go to A&E with a bad ankle before as well.

Dunno who told you that, but a minor injuries dept should be able to deal with that themselves.

    Refused hospital treatment

Is it shocking though? One of the reasons A&E departments are so overworked that they can't cope with genuine emergencies is people turning up with things they should see their GP about. Sorry, but a leg abscess is neither an accident or an emergency.
