I'm not! 😡
I think I joined in about 2001, when the internet was still sort of shiny and new... still feel like a bit of an interloper sometimes though, not being Brighton based, even after the best part of twenty years!
Don't let it bother you Bozza. You weren't doing anything out of the ordinary for you in terms of exercise, and observed social distancing. The random stranger can do one.
I ran 12 miles today, I saw more people near my house than I did running along the A246!
Glorious crisp morning up on the North Downs, spectacular views from Newlands Corner and St Martha's Hill. A few runners and dog walkers about, but all very friendly and respectful of social distancing.
A bit weird running today, found myself running on the road a lot to get round people whilst maintaining distance, and sometimes holding my breath as I went past too.
Stoke Park wasn't overrun with people though, mostly small family groups keeping themselves apart from others. The only...
I don't think my company will be affected tbh, and we're already set to work from home for the time being (unless a server needs prodding).
But I was chatting to one of the other Dad's at Junior Orange's football club and things sound desperate in the tourism industry, with jobs going left...
I can't help feeling that a lot of the actions going on around the world are for appearance sake rather than any practical purposes. I'm specifically thinking about the flight bans to the US - the virus is already there.
The best we can do is mitigate. Keep clean, and keep our old folk safe.
I'll just carry on training until something concrete happens regarding the marathon.
Going back to the Surrey Half, I've had a chance to do some analysis on my watch data, and I'm very happy with how the run went. Particularly pleasing was that my last full mile was my quickest, a 6:29, and...
Well, I feel much happier about Brighton Marathon now I have a race under my belt.
I got myself around the new Surrey Half route in 1:28:21 according to my watch, and felt comfortable with it. I sat in front of the 1:30 pacer for the first half, then upped the effort in the second half, and...
Me!! I had a 10 mile tempo run scheduled for tomorrow but brought it forward as I wanted an extra day recovery before I take part in the Surrey Half on Sunday.
I got a bit wet...
:lolol:
It was in The Brain of Morbius. Classic Philip Hinchcliffe / Tom Baker monster era.
The Doctor has always been a bit mysterious, for instance did we ever find out his dark secret from the old time, the time of chaos, that Lady Peinforte threatened him with in Silver Nemesis?
There was a David Tennant episode, I forget which one, where he regenerated without changing his appearance for some plot reason or other, and Romana burned through a couple of regenerations to try on new appearances before settling on looking like Princess Astra (Lalla Ward). So it is by no...
Yes, the parkrun website lists all times for registered runners for all runs at all events (once the run director has uploaded it). You could probably find my time for my first run at Richmond back in 2009 if you chose to. :)
The wind has dropped, the sun has come out, and I've completed another 20 miles and hit my target pace to boot (despite almost stacking it coming down the Portsmouth Road into Guildford).
Happy with that.
