Didn't seem any point in signing up for next year when they'd already said that this year's place would be rolled over in the case of cancellation. I've resumed training to give myself some focus.
I agree with the above, it is carrying extra weight that causes joint issues when running, not the running itself. I'm struggling at the moment because I'm half a stone heavier than I should be.
Sounds like you lucked out then - you also got to miss that God-awful match against Southampton! By far and away the weirdest atmosphere at a match I've ever experienced.
1983, we'd been on a family holiday, and my Dad had a ticket for a certain Cup Final. Anyway we dropped him off at a railway station on the way back home and he gave my Mum instructions on how to drive the rest of the way and be home in time for kick-off. You can probably guess what happened...

I figured it was about time I resumed Brighton Marathon training, so I drew up my revised plan tonight. The good news is that I've already missed a couple of 20 mile runs. The bad news is that I start up with 6x800m intervals. Boo!
