If you go to the Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday you'll be away for several months... the race is in September!!
:p
I ran it a couple of years ago, and it's a tough one... particularly resisting the urge to kick as soon as you get back onto the long walk :D
I did a 20-miler along the Wey towpath there and back to Byfleet Boat Club a few weeks ago and it was somewhat boggy then, and I can't imagine it having improved in the meantime! I didn't realise how close I got to the turn for the Basingstoke Canal until checking on the map just now.
Oww! I shall never grumble about the occasional bramble scratch ever again!
No such problems on my interval session yesterday though... just issues keeping myself going!
(I still hate intervals)
I think it is also important not to worry too much about life getting in the way of your new eating and exercise habits, it is not a problem to miss the occasional bit of exercise - for instance the recent storms have caused several of us who are training for the Brighton Marathon to miss our...
Don't imagine that you don't have time for exercise, I have been known to watch telly whilst whirring away on our exercise bike. One 45 minute program is good enough.
I never did find out which pub in Guildford BG used to be the landlord of. I'll raise a pint to him the next time I'm in one of them though!
His nonsense will be missed. :(
Swimming is the relaxing part of training, and I don't feel particularly speedy when I'm forever having to make way for one chap who swims at the same time as me who is clearly at least ten years older than I am!
I ran the swapped tempo run today, 6 miles at a target 7:15 per mile topped and tailed with a mile easy. Managed to keep to the target pace more or less which was pleasing what with the plan being rather at the mercy of the weather lately.
I figured Storm Dennis would ruin long run Sunday, so I popped out and did it at lunch instead. I did not enjoy running uphill into headwinds as I made my way home!
He was a solid player for us, Bong. Don't forget that when he signed for us it brought to an end a period of several years when we didn't actually have a regular left back of our own - he removed the doubt as to whether we still needed one.
I wish him all the best.
In years to come I suspect Trump's time in office will be dramatised as a farce... except that could never be truly as tragically amusing as what is currently going on - the lies, the deceit, the obfuscation... and very rarely, the truth.
Getting an appointment can be awkward, you're right (and the app is rubbish). We're due a first service on our new place, which is booked for the end of next month - we moved in before Christmas...
Have you got Homecare? Depending on the level of cover it does pay for itself in spades when things truly f*ck up.
The gas main was replaced along the road at our old place a couple of years back, and when they came to switch our gas back on they detected a leak and were so legally obliged not...
