NB not all twin tuners can record 2 programmes at once, although my mum's can record and playback simultaneously. Don't get a single tuner though, because when the analogue signal is switched off you won't be able to watch one channel whilst recording another.

Nonsense, it would have no effect. The trend is for more FAs, in fact Europe's numbers have increased dramatically following the break-up of the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia, not to mention Liechenstein, San Marino and Andorra etc.
