Ok, I've been fair and dedicated 10 minutes of my evening to West Ham (highest 21925) and 10 minutes to Brighton (highest 25875) - looks like a win for both!!
Used to play this a lot when I was at uni, but never for Brighton. Every little helps! *pats bum cheek*
Yes, and as I stated earlier West ham were playing a very similar formation to Gus's favoured one (albeit a more direct style!). If CMS, Barnes, Noone, Lua Lua, Buckley or others could be encouraged to gamble on flicks then this type of player could become useful to BHA but I fear he would end...
If you think Gus would play two up front, then yes he could become an asset. Personally I reckon if he signed a taller forward CMS would move wide or the bench (if not sold).
Don't do it Gus!
He blows very hot and cold, mainly cold. I've probably seen him in 10 games or so for West Ham and he has looked effective in 2 of them. Can be very lazy, poor first touch and his one main strength (in the air) was usually negated by the fact that as a lone striker he had no...
While I agree that he should be given a chance, everyone should calm down a bit about Bridge. He is way past his best, very one-footed and extremely injury-prone.
I hope he proves me wrong, but in his brief spell at West Ham he was a massive let-down. Granted that was in the Premier League...
I feel well placed to comment on this topic. I was born and brought up in East London/Essex border area and all my family had always been West Ham so it followed that I would be. We moved to Lewes (via Newhaven, next-door to John Robinson!) when I was about 10.
My first games were at Goldstone...
Seen him a couple of times, looks lively and has good awareness of those around him. First touch is sometimes lacking and is liable to get bumped off the ball a bit. Would be a good squad player for BHAFC this season if you ask me, which you didn't.
