THanks BHA Benny. :) Currently on day 7 out his 10 day conditioning chemo. On Thursday his new cells will go into him and he will have his 2nd birthday (like the queen).
A big thanks to the Anthony Nolan Trust who have given him this chance of life + of course the donor who we have no idea who...
Could do a job, but would fall out with Poyet in 10 seconds flat. Good call though. Have to say, if anyone has an anger management problem - there's your man. He lost it big time.
Just an update on the boy.
He's currently on day 5 out of 10 of his Conditioning Chemo. He'll get his new stem cell (bone marrow) next Thursday. He did react to one of the drugs (CAmpath). but seemed fine on te second dose.
So all going ok at the moment.
He'll only go to a job that has money to spend. If Villa offerered him loads of dosh to buy new players, then that's a job he'd find hard to turn down imo.
Just about to (or sitting) my finals at Sussex.
actually, wasn't it Euro finals that year? I remember trying to study and seeing the England-Holland game on and having to miss it as I had an important exam the morning after. Or was that the year before. hmmm. memory not great these days

Am personally pro-Europe. But also understand the anti-Euro sentiment, but don't personally feel that way.
Wouldn't say I'm so pro-europe I'd vote for a party like UKinEuro Party, but wouldn't vote for a party that's totally against Euro either.
None of them bother coming round where I live apart from Tory. It is so Tory, that the houses might as well be painted Blue.
I would love a Lib Dem to come round - so I can give them some stick (in a nice way), but alas they don't.
Me too. I just wish there was something different on the list. It's a bit like going for a meal at a restruant, then thinking stuff that I'm not hungry when you see the menu. Have always been a Labour supporter, but just think Ed is the wrong man and I can't be bothered voting in a seat that...
This is the first time I think I have not voted. Have voted at every election since I was 18.
4 choices I had were, Labour, Tory, Lib Dems, UKIP.
Would not vote UKIP.
Would have thought about Lib Dems if they weren't a bunch of liars (and still have a problem with their trying to block...
Well said, and I think you're right about why did it take so long to do it personally. I think when you're young you don't think you'll ever get sick and it happens to other people. Then as you age, you sorta change your thinking. Well I think that's what happened to me anyway.
Don't forget when you give blood to consider BONE MARROW DONATION. All you have to do to join the register is ask when you sign in. They will give you a leaflet + a bit that you fill in, then take a little bit extra blood.
Someone on this register has donated their Stem Cells and has given my...
I just turn up and they always fit me in. Would be crazy if they turned you away. A lot of people book appointments but not everybody sticks to them (or are late), so I'm sure there's spare capacity even if the appointment systems says not.
Doesn't hurt, just a few pin pricks.
The thing that used to worry me was feeling dizzy afterwards. But I honestly feel 10 times worse waking up with a hangover.
Same as my wife. She needed 4 units. But the arguement to her was that if you don't have the blood you won't be able to enjoy your daughter as you'll be so anemic for many months, so she had it.
The thing with never giving blood again is not quite true. At the moment they can't give blood, but...
