Sad to see Bobby go - seemed to be a Hoddle player, thus not a Pleat player (and it worked the other way round too). Didn't expect him to be banging in the goals this season, rather one for the future - but didn't get much of a chance, just the odd 10 minutes here or there.
Unfortunately already the BBC reports and so on are writing him off as a "Premiership flop" etc - pretty unfair based on the chances he had.
But anyway. Can't complain about signing Defoe, reckon he's the type of six-yard-box finisher we need and hopefully he'll ease up a little on the red card count.
Good luck Bobby, hope he does well - though, since he's now playing for West Ham, hopefully not *too* well.
As for the fee and any sell-ons for Albion - well, for all his promise, there's not much real hard evidence his value should have gone UP since last summer, is there?
Apparently our deal for Paul Robinson fell through after agreeing a fee and personal terms, because it emerged that loaning him back to Leeds for the rest of the season would take them over their loans limit. Nice to know everyone involved was really on the ball for this one. . .
