Who remembers the mass co-ordinated invasions/troll attacks on other forums? Leyton Orient always being a happy hunting ground with that cock Buono and then there was the American Football sites. Always seem to remember Simster being at the front leading the charge. Happy days. :clap2:

Way out west
I started posting in 1998, have had two changes of name since, purely to reflect a change in the place I lived, also posted as Chris Ramsays' socks when it was the in thing to have a players name and a part of their anatomy or kit.

We have had a bit of fun on here, remember the Miss Viking radio competition, everyone voted for the same girl repeatedly and they cancelled it without declaring her the winner.

Can't say that I remember the invasion of American footy sites, perhaps we should revisit that one as it is their season at the moment, could be a bit of fun now the nights have drawn in.

Just done a bit of snooping about on the web.archive site and found a visiters counter set at a date of 5th April 1996 but this was for the seagulls server.

The earliest posting listed on the NSC page within the Achive is 8th July 1997, but I am sure NSC was created earlier.

The link is http://web.archive.org/web/19970722113110/homepages.enterprise.net/gjc/

Looking at the archive site quite a number of posters used their true names, not many people do that now.

My God I'm on there under my real name!! And the date Manx Seagull quotes was my 40th birthday!!

As this doesn't tally with my current details to the left I should explain that I read the new NSC for ages before joining (don't knwo why, inertia probably). I'm still on the mailing list too.

Yeah but couldn't you type in any user name you wanted?

Yes. I once described myself as "Cheeky Monkey" not realising someone else regularly used that moniker; and was subjected to some probably quite justified abuse!

I also remember Loony and Watford O leading a very funny attack on some American boards inhabited by good ol' boys from the Deep South: "Your profile says you come from Kentucky but it doesn't say what branch you work at".
