Jesus wept. So now, in bushyland, every single Polish builder lives 8 to a house and sends all their money home? f***ing hell.

That's exactly how many of them live. Their low wages here are worth a lot more money in Poland. They live in crowded conditions so they pay a pittance in rent, and they eat the cheapest food.

That would be like the British builders, that swamped Germany, and Holland in the 80s, and 90s...only language I heard in Den Haag during the redevelopment, where the work was being done was English.

As for the rooms idiots remarks that British skilled workers are better qualified than Polish skilled workers...without a shred of evidence other than...'my mate said'...is pretty laughable, like somebody said, going to have to hear this sort of crap for the next five years.
I think we will leave Europe, but I also think it will be a mistake, but we will have to wait and see. Who knows, may even see UKIP people in 'ministerial' positions lol

Where does he say EVERY Polish builder ? His point is very valid though - just up from me are a number of houses and flats where Eastern European people live in numbers that we would never accept as British people. One three bedroom house has at least 10 young Eastern Europe men. Another three bedroom house has at least 8 Asians living there. Don't get me wrong - that's up to them - BUT it does make it difficult for locally born people to compete.

Jesus probably wept because of the nails !

Again, a bit like British workers in Germany and Holland in the 80s and 90s...

To those who think leaving the EU will stop people working in other countries - could you explain how come some many London Bars are staffed by Aussies and Kiwis yet their countries aren't part of the EU ?

Apart from the reggae side of things, Frankfurt was pretty dull..... but Den Haag...great place to live... nice city, 20 mins to Amsterdam, or Rotterdam, and a sandy beach....

The question is raises for me is; should we be protecting these industries (through limited immigration, trade tariffs, etc.)

As a consumer I have to say no.

Because there was a labour SHORTAGE , not the case now , or when the accession countries were allowed in.

South Today recently had an item about Eastern Europeans living rough on the streets in Bognor, with the contention being that for many of them living on the streets of the UK was a better option than going home. Their was a Home Office initiative that was paying them to leave, but some were just taking the money and then coming back.

Those that stayed were happy to because through networks built up during the better times some work was still available cash in hand and in some cases accomodation would be available on a temporary basis.

One of the coppers dealing with this situation was Polish himself, who by his own admission understood how his position was created to deal with unruly eastern europeans. Didnt Police in West Sussex recently state that 20% of those that they were arresting were eastern european?

Evidently they are not all working hard.

No shortage of builders in Holland there wasnt, but, im sure the British builders qualifications were much, much better.
