[Politics] Trump's new gender executive order...

Happy to engage on that wider discussion. It seems to me accepted that sex is objective while gender is subjective and the question is how you order society on something subjective. Ideally you would not want society ordered: there should be no need for separate best actor/actress categories if there were even representation. But were there is a need then you require objectivity, sport being an obvious example. Even then it's clear that there might be some sports where sex is not a defining measure of success (equestrianism being a commonly quoted example) and then you don't divide.

The wider question is do you need to define gender if it doesn't determine a different outcome? If sex is actually significant in a given situation, should gender override that?
The vast majority of elite showjumping, eventing and dressage horses are male (or neutered males). It's the horse that does the physical work, not the rider

On the Lineham point, it wasn't long ago that the episode in question of the IT crowd was available on Netflix. It's since gone.

It obviously hasn't aged well but the Matt Berry character got the brunt of the jokes "I thought you said you were from Iran" It's certainly not a hate fulled episode of bigotry or whatever.

It's interesting that he is now in US, "cancelled" but still writing books and gainfully employed. I guess there is most definitely more money to be made by having the more extreme opinion than churning out comedy (Laurence Fox etc). Prior to social media this all blows over if it even blows up. Now people are making an industry out of a bit of controversial telly made in 2008.
Was that the one where they went to the theatre to see a “ gay” musical where Moss ended up as working behind the bar. The final scenes of him saying goodbye to the staff at the end of the shift was comedy genius.

No, that's "The work outing" where Roy goes for a piss in the disabled toilet and ends up in a Wheelchair for the remainder of the evening with Moss behind the bar. Still up on Netflix and one of the best episodes of the whole thing albeit would be on the cutting room floor today I suspect.

In the episode in question, Matt Berry starts a new relationship with someone who later admits to being a man. There are bits and pieces on YouTube. I'd argue it holds up better than say "It ain't half hot mum" did 20 years later.

Answering your mention from the thread I am blocked in. The Epstein and P Diddy files are in possession of the head of the FBI. We are waiting on the confirmation of nominations in this case Kash Patel who was in charge of investigating the muller hoax and has said that half the classified stuff is just to protect important people and he will declassify it all. The Dems are stalling on nominations, I wonder why?

The Mueller Hoax? You mean the report made by the chap who was given the job by a President Donald Trump appointee whilst he was in office, and reported back whilst he was still in office? Do people often perpetuate hoaxes upon themselves?

Good article on why Trump is immune to the left.
If you like your propaganda with a Russian topping, certainly a site of choice for the Trump sycophants, conspiricists and alt-right libertarian knuckle draggers. Other than that, I'm sure it is a balanced objective journalistic piece well worth sharing.
