We're getting close. Previous VoNC was 211 vs 148. Pincher has lost the whip, so that becomes 210 vs 148. Let's assume all 18 resignations would vote no: 192 vs 166. Find 13 more to switch sides and he's done. As mentioned above, there's a number of backbenchers who've switched sides in the last 24 hours.

I think he knows it’s up. I think he’s known for months that he’ll get binned at some point. He’s taking pleasure in all this. Winding people up, testing the will of his foes. Seeing who he can get to speak up for him, seeing how much the electorate will swallow.

It’s all a game to him. I can’t overstate how much he’ll be enjoying all this fuss. Look at him in PMQ’s, he just chuckles. Actually laughs. That’s not a man who is concerned.

He’ll be scoffing at the people sucking up to him and defending him to the press “haha! Look at ol’ Spanker Burns! putting his career on the line to defend me! And I don’t even like him! Silly old sod, Hahahah”!

All this analysis, all this news. He’ll be laughing at how seriously people are taking it all. All centred on him. A man who does not give a fig. When he goes, he won’t care a jot.


I’ve been around these elite, boarding school buggers all my life. I know people like him. He’ll be treating this as nothing more serious than getting told off by Matron for rifling through the other boy’s tuck boxes.

As someone who doesn't believe a word Johnson says, I totally agree with all of that. He doesn't care about anyone apart from himself, has no respect for colleagues or interest in people up and down the country and thinks he is WAY above everyone else in terms of intellect.

However, the thing that I don't quite understand is that this was meant to be the dream job for the man who wanted to be 'World King' – how can he make such a mess of it? Or, like Trump and probably many others, was it more about having the title of the Prime Minister, as opposed to doing the work of the Prime Minister?

Or maybe he is actually being truthful when he says he's doing the best job he can, it's just his best is borderline medicore at a push?
