You are totally correct that Corbyn is a lifelong Eurosceptic but I think you will find that it was the right wing of the Labour party, Starmer et al, that prevented the Corbyn-led Labour Party from standing on an anti-EU ticket. The Labour Party manifesto said that they would respect the result of the Referendum but Corbyn was hamstrung from doing so.

And I'm still not sure what Starmer has done except alienate a large percentage of Party activists and ban his shadow ministers from supporting working men and women who are having to strike to get a decent wage which, if they are successful, would still result in a minimum 3% pay cut in real terms.

He got it done but now wants it undone having rushed through the TCA over Christmas 2019. He didn't read it and nor did those around him.

Labour is not committed to the same thing. Their strategy will is to honour the International treaty we signed up to and use the appropriate legal mechanisms if things need changing.

One party follows the rule of law, the other thinks they can make unilateral changes when they feel like it.

No one trusts Johnson overseas, he's bad for the Tories and bad for the UK

I will answer your two replies because they are courteous. I was done a long time ago answering rude posts about the EU by the same old posters. Just no interest in engaging with them. Rippleman, Starmer has committed to not rejoining the EU, Single Market or Customs Union. I have no idea if this is a good strategic decision for Labour but it is enough to win my vote.Yes, the right of the Labour Party prevented Corbyn backing Brexit but the ground has now shifted as per Starmer’s speech.
Nikko, that is one of the reasons I will be voting Labour. I think international agreements should be honoured. I feel that with both main parties now backing us being out of the EU there will be more meaningful negotiation from both sides and an agreement found.

I didn't think this was discourteous ?

Well maybe, in the spirit of civilised debate, you could tell us your suggestion for resolving the Unimplementable Northern Ireland Protocol and the unimplementable Import controls ?

So what sort of agreement do you think 'can be found' on the NIP, that hasn't been found in the last 6 years ?

Boris Johnson could face another confidence vote within days as members of the Conservative backbench committee will consider changing the rules as soon as Wednesday night, the Guardian understands.

Two executive members said it was possible that the 1922 Committee could decide to change the rules to allow a confidence vote to take place at a meeting of the executive on Wednesday afternoon. Johnson is protected by the current rules, which grant a year’s immunity after he won a vote a month ago.

It was. In, gently twist and back in again.

(Yes, I'm talking about Javid's knife and not Carrie in the Palace of Westminster)

Nobody does the Night of the Long Knives as good as the Tories. No-one.

... Then twisted it.

18 resignations from the Payroll. Not sure how many, but quite a few declarations of no confidence from previously loyal backbenchers.

We're getting close. Previous VoNC was 211 vs 148. Pincher has lost the whip, so that becomes 210 vs 148. Let's assume all 18 resignations would vote no: 192 vs 166. Find 13 more to switch sides and he's done. As mentioned above, there's a number of backbenchers who've switched sides in the last 24 hours.

Rumblings that Gove might be preparing to resign later today.

I think we've reached the tipping point. 1922 will go to Boris later today (same as they did with May). If Boris refuses to go, they then change the rules. New VoNC as early as Friday, and kick off for leadership race starts next week.

Javids statement was the most personal HOC assassination in my lifetime.

Howes attack on Thatcher was not an attack on her character, Javids was 100% an attack on the morals, character, honesty, and integrity of Johnson.

He's gonna have to ever go with just 4 subs or put 2 'keepers on the (front) bench.

Agreed. Boris has hours left.

Okay..... I will do your research for you this once.....

https://www.openbible.info/topics/stupidity

I have found a link, now see if you can find the appropriate quote.

What did you think it was all about?

Sorry, that is instances of the Good Book quoting stupidity. Where is the mention of biblical being used as an adjective for said shortcoming?

Come on, you can do this.
