Sorry, that is instances of the Good Book quoting stupidity. Where is the mention of biblical being used as an adjective for said shortcoming?

Come on, you can do this.

FFS:

biblically
/ˈbɪblɪkli/

adverb

in a way that accords with or relates to the Bible.
"a biblically grounded objection"

to a great extent.
"a biblically idiotic haircut"

So 'biblically stupid' means 'stupid to a great extent'

Now give it a f**king rest you tedious bore.

18 resignations from the Payroll. Not sure how many, but quite a few declarations of no confidence from previously loyal backbenchers.

We're getting close. Previous VoNC was 211 vs 148. Pincher has lost the whip, so that becomes 210 vs 148. Let's assume all 18 resignations would vote no: 192 vs 166. Find 13 more to switch sides and he's done. As mentioned above, there's a number of backbenchers who've switched sides in the last 24 hours.

Rumblings that Gove might be preparing to resign later today.

I think we've reached the tipping point. 1922 will go to Boris later today (same as they did with May). If Boris refuses to go, they then change the rules. New VoNC as early as Friday, and kick off for leadership race starts next week.

19 resignations now, and this one appears a direct response to Javid.

191 vs 167 (and however many backbench switchers there are now)

Sounds like Johnson is the only one who does not realise the game is up....

Conor Burns, NI minister, has put his hand up to be today's "PM's patsy". Me sir! Please, me sir!

What is the matter with them? Looks and sounds like a complete and total arse. Defending the totally indefensible.

21.

189 vs 169 (plus backbench)

OK, think I've found a reasonable list of backbench switchers. Looks like 7, possibly 8. I'll use 7 for the count:

182 vs 176

Nearly there. Very nearly there.

Edit: Jenrick switches. 181 vs 177

I think he knows it’s up. I think he’s known for months that he’ll get binned at some point. He’s taking pleasure in all this. Winding people up, testing the will of his foes. Seeing who he can get to speak up for him, seeing how much the electorate will swallow.

It’s all a game to him. I can’t overstate how much he’ll be enjoying all this fuss. Look at him in PMQ’s, he just chuckles. Actually laughs. That’s not a man who is concerned.

He’ll be scoffing at the people sucking up to him and defending him to the press “haha! Look at ol’ Spanker Burns! putting his career on the line to defend me! And I don’t even like him! Silly old sod, Hahahah”!

All this analysis, all this news. He’ll be laughing at how seriously people are taking it all. All centred on him. A man who does not give a fig. When he goes, he won’t care a jot.

I’ve been around these elite, boarding school buggers all my life. I know people like him. He’ll be treating this as nothing more serious than getting told off by Matron for rifling through the other boy’s tuck boxes.

If he gets binned, so be it. He’ll only be hanging around to see what he can get away with. See how much of a mess he can get away with making. To him, this is a food fight at a cricket tea.
Win, lose, or draw, he’ll stroll away, licking jam off his chops and chuckling with his chums.

As someone who doesn't believe a word Johnson says, I totally agree with all of that. He doesn't care about anyone apart from himself, has no respect for colleagues or interest in people up and down the country and thinks he is WAY above everyone else in terms of intellect.

However, the thing that I don't quite understand is that this was meant to be the dream job for the man who wanted to be 'World King' – how can he make such a mess of it? Or, like Trump and probably many others, was it more about having the title of the Prime Minister, as opposed to doing the work of the Prime Minister?

Or maybe he is actually being truthful when he says he's doing the best job he can, it's just his best is borderline medicore at a push?

Funny bloke.
