The current state of the parties:-

Labour 23
Conservative 20
Green 6
Liberal Democrat 3
Independent 2

Labour have already lost their majority. All it will take for them to cease being the largest party is for them to lose two seats.

Blimey - if Ruth Kelly says No we might as well close the gates then

Precisely: Local Tories have always hated the Albion (except when it might win them a vote or two-as shown by that wanker at the last rally). They were actively campaigning against us using Withdean and Sussex Tory MPs have been less than supportive-in fact, publicly anti-Falmer...Bottomley, Fatty Soames anybody?

If Ruth Kelly says no-we are f***ed!

but that's alright because so many on here say so. Those same people who criticise other people's efforts, ideas and statements from those who are trying to secure our ground.

The trouble is that the world of the internet and phone in etc has given certain individuals a louder voice than that which they deserve. Nothing sells better than controversy and intrigue so sadly many people cater to the lowest common demoninator.

Just when the fans need to be united against the common enemy in those who are trying to put us out of business by delaying our new stadium we end up with posts about how we mustn't blame LDC, how the board must change, insulting other supporters as bobble hats or DK apologists etc.

It is the arrogance of the whingers that is doing more to put people off going to withdean that any other single issue and I include west ham tickets in that.

And for that point - I really feel sorry for people like Beach Hut as his valid issues have been overshadowed by the ongoing whingefest.

It's abit like NIMBYs in as much as, the false and pathetic arguments of some, only aim to water down the valid arguments of others.

I'll await the usual posts from 'those in the know' who'll say that this is just scaremongering and that there's always an alternative.

It just seems that no matter how often this has been said, there are still those who would love to believe otherwise.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread.

indeed you did - but it didn't stop more pages of the same ill informed cobblers being spouted by those who all have inside info about how we'll convert withdean into a multiplex super stadium complete with retractable roof and the facilities they used to have at the collisseum where rich romans were wanked off by servants whilst watching the entertainment.

.

If you think we should censor people on the radio, then it would be nice to know how. I try my very best to get over the fact that Falmer is the be and end all....I am not sure what much else we can do.

nobody but nobody is mentioning censorship. The southern counties football phone in is not the route cause of a society where extreme views get more airtime than the comments contained therein deserve.

My comments clearly say in the world of internet and phone in - it does not say NSC and the fans phone in.

If some numbnuts wants to phone up and criticise the fact he doesn't get a west ham ticket even though he didn't even apply then there is nothing that can be done about it.

but the in joke of the ernest's and leroy's of this world would not get much of a look in without the medium to write and broadcast them. However there are some who dont see the joke and think it is the new hip thing to be vociferous against the chairman, the board, other fans etc.

I've been trying to get this point across to Ernest for ever, but he refuses to see it, and always just replies with an inane smiley, the huge wit, that he is. He is simple too far up himself to see the damage that he is doing.

I really do believe that the club is at a crossroads. we can either all pull together as we have done in the past, or we can continue this whingeing and bickering that has been going on for much of the last 18 months.

the latter is a surefire way to ensure that the club starts to implode.

The trouble is that everybody needs a folk devil - with some 'esteemed' supporters saying that we mustn't criticise ldc for the mess we're in and then making innuendo comments about the board, then the rather dim sheep will take the route of criticising the board.

The biggest worry I have is that the favourite word of so many of these individuals is 'I'. They are the kind of people who say, 'that's enough of me talking about me. What do you like about me?'

There are people on here who criticised McGhee last year but when a large number of others joined in, they started backing him It just seems that for some, it's anything for an argument.

But the idea of a FANS phone in is just that.

You think falmer is a brilliant idea, I think it is a brilliant idea, thousands of albion fans recon its a brilliant idea, BUT there are also people who do not and if they phone in, then they are going to get their say.

When Norman Baker "spits" was on, the phone in was given over to yourself, Jim and Martin perry, and you made your points extremely well and hopefully this would have swayed a few more people, but you only have to look at the Argus to see that there still is a constant drizzle of people who snipe away and I agree what you say, that there appears to be more people on here doing the same.

As other people are very fond of doing, I would say to people, Keep the faith we only have another two months to know out fate.

Yes but I think you've formed your opinion based on the postings of a few fans on a message board, and a few calls to a phone in line. There are far more fans out there than those who reside here... and besides 10 years ago before the internet you wouldn't have had any message board to form an opinion from!

Crossroads? Nah....

4 months, according to Dick Knight, in the Carlisle program.

Just to clarify - I had to phone in as did all the other callers.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be a phone in - but I am saying that we have to be aware of the negatives that come with it.

Frankly extreme views and negatives get readers, views and listeners and that is what will happen.

However, some of the jokers need to understand the implications of what they are doing. What's the phrase? 'be careful of what you wish for it may come true'.

That's when the deadline for the reports and submissions to be in.
Then we await the decision.
