The most intelligent summation of what has been coming out of your mouth recently.

Why are you lying? It's clear for all to see you did say you wanted KP dropped and now your back tracking saying you actually meant Bairstow. You argument has been picked apart like the Aussie middle-order.

Lying ? oh dear, do you not remember late last night when I posted this ?

yep, you are right, I got so twisted up in my ludicrous, childish hatred of KP I managed to forget my original point

Anyway problem solved now, England's Saviour has an injury and so we are on our own now. We shall just have to hold our collective breath and wait. Somehow England will just have to hang on for the rest of the series.

Go back to your posts 445 & 552 - you quite clearly state why the obsession with KP I would drop him bring Compton into open and move Root down. You then backtrack on post 552 completely changing your story and stating in was Bairstow you wanted dropped not KP.

Yes , well done that's right, as I said, you confused me so much that I forgot my original argument. Tell you what, just so as I can make things clear and succinct for you as I can see you like things that way, I'll restate as best I can, my original position Only trouble is, in the light of Roots success this innings, KP's ingrowing calf hair, and the Aussies imminent collapse its all pointless as so many circumstances have changed.

We can always revisit this debate if/when KP feels able to perform again.

At the risk of opening a debate we've already had, why are we still batting? Joe Root's got plenty of time in his test career to score a double ton. Perhaps it will mean more in a match situation that actually matters.

Root goes for 180 and Cook calls them in.

Australia need 583 runs to win, or to bat out just under 2 days for the draw.

I'm loving the irony that it looks like you'll probably get your original desire. "Ingrowing calf hair" made me chuckle as well.

I'd get Compton back involved. My suspicion is they they'll actually give Morgan another chance to decrease his already poor Test Match average.

Right then, after some inital indecision, I'm a fully paid up member of the "Australian batting is a joke" club. This doesn't look like it will make it until tea.

As the next Aussie batsmen has the small picket gate held open for him as he walks down the steps I can hear the ghost of Fred Trueman saying, " don't bother closing it, he'll not be long"
