Oops, another bad decision by the looks of it. If he's played a shot I reckon the umpire would have been more reluctant to give that. Umpires love giving you when you're padding up.

I love the optimism of Clarke but a landslide is looming.

They may even lose to Sussex as well

As captain he has to talk up his team even though he himself knows the game is up. It's exactly what all the losing England captains had to do.

Dramatic end, no?

Why didn't England declare with an hour to go on Saturday ?

Why on earth did they bat on today ?

Why doesn't somebody tell Broad that there are stumps behind the batsmen and he's allowed to bowl at them from time to time ?

Was it just me (probably) who thought that , as well as being vastly superior to a poor opposition, England had the rub of the green in this one ?

Honestly, Australia were an utter embarrassment. I watched England at their absolute worst when Gilchrist scored that ridiculous ton in Perth 06/07 and I genuinely don't think that we were as hopeless as this lot today.

You know we had the whole of today to finish them off as well?

With the Ashes more or less wrapped up already, I'm genuinely lamenting the absence of quality from the Australian team. I remember hearing Aussie pundits saying the same thing in 2006 after England folded like a pack of cards on the last day in Adelaide (2nd test) and went on to lose 5-0, yet that England team was nowhere near as bad as this Aussie one. I didn't believe those Aussie pundits at first, but certainly do now. The Ashes are a complete damp squib when the teams aren't competitive.

Their bowling is just about passable, but the Aussie batting is no better than Bangladesh. No top 3 batsman has made a ton for Aussie in ten tests. That is shocking.
