I am sure there is a serious pen shortage in Brighton - neither Andrei or Leon can find one. Just use a pencil lads

Now nothing is done until the paper work is signed - but I understand that the club sold Knights shirt sponsorship today. Would they have done that if he was leaving tomorrow? (Well I guess they might, but I like to think not).

I will be as disappointed as anyone if we lost Leon,e specially to QPR, but the fact we are even in the running for a player with such potential is better then nothing.
Ok, so we might lose out to other clubs, but that is a harsh fact of life we may have to deal with. Some teams fans will NEVER see a player of Zamoras / Knights quality in their teams kit.
until we get Falmer we are not in a position to compete financially and I think a few people on this board need to accept this.

You feel so helpless in all this. If it had happened yesterday we could have shouted, screamed, waved banners, fallen at his feet, promised to name our first born sons after him - or whatever it would have taken to let him know how much we want him to stay. And show him much more he'd rather be here than QPR!

For the Brighton, the mighty Brighton"
He's got to sign to Knight!"

sorry, we- recently received 1million pounds, have lost 2 or 3 big earners in the summer and were in div 1 last year, cannnot compete with QPR recently out of administration??

something is seriously wrong if that is the case.

yes we need falmer but we also need a league team to play in it!!

Im starting to think that if we do lose Leon it would be more honest of DK to state that all promotion aspirations are on hold until such time that we get Falmer sorted. This small ground/ lack of revenue/players wont sign syndrome is becoming a viscous bloody circle.:shootself

if u were a young player would u wanna join a team with shittu, carlilse, mcleod, rowlands, etc. honestely?? we may have beaten them last night but they have an excellent young team. i just think him going to QPR is to easy for him. he wont have to move, he's played there before etc. :nono:

Not the real one
Dick Must Prove He Means it!

Following his article in the program last night and the same one on the official site, one paragraph smacks of ambitiona nd he needs to prove he means it by outbidding QPR.

I'm not saying Knight out if Knights not in, like some on here, but there must be a time when the playing side has to come first when such a Gem as Knight is uncovered.

Dick's Promise of Promotion Challenge.
DK:
"Div one was a taste of the future, once you've had a taste you want more, I'm expecting us to be promotion contenders again this season."

Offer more for Knight than QPR, if you mean it!

QPR have got a strong side to atrract him too. But I agree with a lot of the positive comments above about our chances. SC will be a big factor too. And QPR do already have more striker options than us. He could view that as being in their favour but, more likely surely, is that he will know he's more or less guaranteed first team football and hero worship with us.

Everything is crossed.
