Yes, I think all democratically elected politicians I disagree with should be assassinated too. Hang on, isn’t there a word for that?
It’s what America does, they love shooting each other. I don’t make the rules.

24 hours on and when you take it all in Emily Maitlis wasn’t far wrong it is kind of batshit, he said in a live debate immigrants were eating household pets, he was the first ever US President to be criminally prosecuted and was found guilty, he let an openly racist ‘comedian’ speak at one of his blue riband rallies, MSG, yet still had the majority of voting Americans tick his box.

🤷‍♂️

Because his base vote agree with everything he says, will forgive him everything and most importantly will vote in big numbers.
Kamala never had the same levels of support from her base.

The undecideds voted on the state of the economy.
A lot was made about how the American economy was doing well under Biden.
It just didn't feel like that.
Getting inflation down, doesn't matter one iota, when prices are still increasing.

Tarrifs on goods from China will certainly make sure prices keep increasing.

I think we just have to accept that the majority of Americans are ok with casual racism, criminality and lies. Harris was always expected to be flawless in every speech or delivering any promise or policy but the electorate would always forgive the incoherent, vague ramblings of Trump just as we in the UK did for Johnson.

Nothing we can do about it, we just have to try to get through the next 4 years and hope.

And the Latin vote was up 14% !! That comedian must have been a genius stroke as everyone clearly hates Puerto Ricans.

Apparently Hoyle is not going to be as churlish as Bercow and will not block Donald Trump addressing Parliament on his next visit to the UK.

Yeah sure.

unfortunately the vast majority of the electorate vote on what has happened/is happening, not on what will happen.
That is the opposite of what another poster told me yesterday. @Bry Nylon was that you?

In the cold light of day the 5th November 2024 was a referendum on democracy over autocracy in the USA

51% of the population chose the latter. It remains to be seen if they will have another relatively free and fair election again.

Welcome to the new America everyone, it will never be the same again.

And we better wake up or we'll be next....

I will bet you now that there will be a normal election in 4 years time. It's incredible how many people get caught up in the hype and nonsense media crap.

I do get rather tired of the

“You can’t call them stupid”

“The left are arrogant”

Kind of flies in the face of all the “anti woke, afraid to say anything” agenda of the right.

I guess we are only allowed to “say it like it is” when it suits the right.

I get it. Nobody likes being called stupid. And I doubt they see themselves as such.

I suppose being stupid is like being dead. You don’t know you’re stupid. It’s everyone else that suffers.

Your man has said this though. He has said that this would be the last election if he won. That is - no normal election in 4 years time.

That's nothing to do with hype or the media - that's straight out of the mouth of your chosen one.

Or are you saying he was lying yet again?

Not sure if its been discussed on here but apparently Gen Z men took a big step to the right in this election. Men aged 18-29 turned out for Trump which I think is pretty concerning.

It's the influence of bellends like Andrew Tate coming to the fore. Yet another thing for the women of America to be worried about.

We all know this election is only been accepted because by Trump and co. because they won. They were ready to block things at every turn if the other side had won.

In 2020 they lost and without Pence's respect for the rule of law it wouldn't have been certified, many wanted to kill him.

The guard rails are off, Trump has supreme power at every level. He can do whatever he likes.

Listening to the 'The News Agents' podcast this morning and they made a pointed comment about how all the barbed wire and security barricades in place around the Capitol are being dismantled today. Almost as if there was only one side people were worried about from a security perspective.
