No surprises today, the world needed this big time, it great to see that the Americans have still got some gonads.
It just needs to fully dawn on us in the UK, what a massive mistake was made by the unnamed 34% when voting in the hypocritical liebour.
I might treat myself to some Ben and Jerry's tonight, and let next doors cat lick my pot.
Presumably with your taste you'll be going for the Flipped Vanilla Brownie?

she was never popular outside certain pockets of democrats, she got knocked out of the primaries fairly early in 2019 and looked out of her depth there.

She has run a really bad campaign after being parachuted in when a decent chunk of the party didn't want her.

I'm sure some people haven't voted for her because she's a black woman, I imagine most have not voted for her because she's an awful choice that not even her own party fully wanted.

Her going to bed rather than address her supporters sums up her performance.
Great flouncing

Genuinly interested in your reasons for supporting him.

It’ll be the same as the rest of them, they like what he says.

People can pretend all they like but you can’t excuse Trump voters looking past the absolute batshit nonsense he comes out with, the lack of actual, fleshed-out policies, as some kind of deep political choice.

He’s like the pied-piper, he says things that they are thinking and agree with and they follow his tune. The cult of personality, it’s basically the case here.

I'm not sure he will 'have to deliver'. What happens to him if he doesn't? He won't get in again in four year's time - but if he doesn't change the legislation he wouldn't be running again anyway. He's not bothered about delivering - he just wants to stay out of jail.

He's basically got away with everything - and he'll be totally unpunished for all his crimes and misdemeanors.
Fair point.

Don't count on it! And yes I do know what the rules are ................................... for NOW.

What happened in the USA today is very depressing, but it is deomocracy and a result of what is happening across Europe. The centre and left leaning parties are burying their heads in the sand on the issues which millions of people have genuine concerns about. It's now costing them votes and power. Their arrogance is also palpable. They need to act now and fast, educating and listening to those easily voters who are swayed by either disinformation or who have genuine concerns about issues which are ignored by the centre and left. I also think people are fed up with the gap between the rich and the poor and the right have lapped it up by blaming minorities and the left, as the establishment. Trumps mad, but I doubt too much will change. Hope so anyway.

Put like that America seems finished.
America is not the first superpower to fall, and it won’t be the last. But it is perhaps unique in effectively voting itself out of existence.

The Romans didn’t choose to be overrun by the Visigoths. The Byzantines didn’t decide collectively to welcome in the Ottomans. The post-Victorian British didn’t want to start either world war. But the citizens of America have actively made the decision through democratic means to end their own hegemony. It’s truly bizarre.

Not a Trump fan personally but prefer a lot of the Republican ideas than the other lot who can’t answer what a women is! Finally there is a fight back against the mental woke nonsense that they just keep pushing further and further.

“She didn’t say the exact things I wanted to hear, so I voted for the guy who is almost certainly going to screw me over personally instead.”

The more I read, the more I think the American public thoroughly deserves the absolute butt-f***ing they’re going to receive over the next four years. It’s just a shame we get it without consent as well.
The American public have already lived through 4 years of Trump's presidency, and enough of them liked it enough to vote him back in.

I think we need to be careful of the idea that we in Brighton (or Burnley) have a better grasp of the state of American politics than the people who live there. Especially when that idea is that we are so much better informed, that anyone who dares to disagree must be stupid. Essentially, it would be useful to remember that it is possible for an intelligent person to have a different political opinion from ourselves.

Republicans make sure they know exactly what a woman is so they know who they can deny rights to more efficiently
