What a wanker, a 16 year old is the perfect example to use seen as the age of his son is 16 it shows that parents think they are doing the right thing by caring but this guy who is in the son's position would be angry if his parents didn't trust him?
Seems feasible to me.

Yes we are? If we don't go to college then we can. I know this as I was going to drop out of college and applied for a full time job.

He doesn't need to keep it in the back of his mind, he can simply not accept his dad's friend request in the first place (my parents aren't my friends on facebook, no one in my family is), he can set his profile to private.
It isn't some enormous task to remember facebook is public, it isn't a chore to tll your friends your parents are on your face book page so could they send sensitive stuff through the message facility, etc.

Having a step-daughter who's 18, a daughter 17, a step-son 17, step-daughter 14, son 7,I'll have my little say.
Us parents try and bring you kids up right, we care about you and hopefully look after you in your tender years. When our eldest was 15 we, wrongly, had the idea to give her more freedom. This resulted in becoming fixated when a lad at school. This led to her nicking money from us and also running up our home phone bill to £500 a month, yes a month. We were beside ourselves we took the phones away we hid our mobiles, then we found she had got hold of a new mobile and started to nick money again. When we stopped this she would run away. We were literally tearing our hair out. It was so disruptive to the family and our businesses suffered.
We moved up to Cambridge. Here she became obsessed by the internet and MSN messenger. I beginning to become suspicious of her activities and bought a programme that recorded usage etc. Call it snooping if you like but it is designed for parents to safeguard their children. I found out she was sneaking down stairs after we had retired to bed and was literally preforming sex acts for all and sundry. We took the computer away, again to the detriment of the rest of the family.
At this time our two eldest were becoming interested in their phones, our phones and the internet. Whilst they appeared to be acting in a reasonable manner, I have to admit my wife and I were checking up on them. We just could not go through it all again!
Fortunately our eldest appears to have found a degree of responsibility but only time will tell.
So Walkers Cajun Squirrel, yes it is "your only a child thing", until your 18 and perhaps left home your parents have a duty to look after you, respect's a two way street. I fully support BH.
