it just seemed so unnecessary, like he saw half a chance to crack on with an agenda.

Still i guess some people are impressed by it and it gets clicks and ratings for the station. Obviously this is far more important than quality content.

A radio station that employs Rory Jennings isn’t concerned with quality content they want a daily binfest.
It wouldn’t have surprised me if the producer was in Brazil’s ear encouraging him.

I listen occasionally and the huge amount of gambling content, be that adverts themselves or people from betting companies on air giving odds on everything and dressing it up as content, is really dreadful. Makes me feel really uncomfortable.
This, I’ve made no secret of the fact that due to some mental health related issues I spent a number of weeks in a rehabilitation facility (to be fair if everyone could do 2 weeks in one, the world would be a better place)

I palled up with a compulsive gambler who had lost £400,000 in a calendar year, and his wife and his house sadly, his tales of both Ladbrokes and William Hill taking him on assorted jollies when times were good were truly sickening.

He likened the ‘free bets’ culture to Stella Artois or Smirnoff standing outside an AA meeting giving out free samples.

I thought the government were changing the law on betting related advertising/sponsorship but that has clearly gone by the wayside.

5 years on to his credit he is bet free and has rekindled his relationship with his family ❤️

So glad I got a replacement iPod to listen to podcasts whilst driving instead of Talksport. You get drawn into actual sport talk only to have Piers Morgan thrown at you or a drunken nob in this case. I like Hawksbee but only when he is with Baker as Jacobs is a rambling buffoon these days.

Don't know if it has been Shebahn Aherne's sister is an international footballer which the drunken balloon would have known.

I don't know why you have to compare the two. The women's game is rapidly gaining a wider audience and it is very different than for the men's game. From what I can see this is younger, often involves whole families, and has more of a party atmosphere. Accessible pricing also helps. Personally apart from major international tournaments, I don't follow it closely myself but it's obviously adding something to people's lives. Gratuitously and publically slagging it off makes him a dinosaur but more than that it makes him a cxxt.

Is this another example of those that preach tolerance are the least tolerant of all? Mr Brazil has an opinion, widely supported, but because it's not fashionable then all the name calling and labels begin.
Calling him "Mr Brazil" made me chuckle, thanks.

He's an allowed an opinion, maybe his delivery is a bit dismissive and rude but it's a debate. It's a shame these days that people have to be afraid to express themselves if it goes against what is considered the 'correct' way to think.

Personally, even though I think woman's football is rubbish, I see it brings joy to a few people and if tony bloom thinks it's worthwhile for Brighton I'm all for it.

But you still felt qualified to question a woman's statement that she felt safer, with her kids, going to women's matches.
It was more than a bit harsh.

To be fair to Jack. I did a survey a year or so ago, with a couple of postgraduates on womens experiences in football. It was questions around how I got into it etc but they also asked about who I went with on match days, if I would go myself (I have, many times) and if I felt safe.

I’ve always felt safe at the football. I’ve gone to games in England, Scotland, I was across in Germany at the Euros. I go with friends, I used to go with my Dad, but I’ve also gone on my own, I’ve never not felt safe at games.

They had said during the interview, that actually all the responses they’d had so far largely mirrored what I had said and that generally women had pretty positive experiences at games. In fact if I can remember their names I’ll try and find their thesis if it’s been published yet, because I was interested in reading the results.

Don’t think he was drunk. He always looks/sounds like that (unless he’s always drunk, which can’t be ruled out 🤣)
Extra level yesterday. Either drunk or not processed last night's yet. Certainly several times over the driving limit. He's always a little slurry but sometimes he's drunk. Gets angry at the slightest thing then too

Done a Frexit, now in London
I voted yes, because he is. But his comments on women's football aren't wrong (in my opinion)

I have zero interest in the women's game, I don't support them, they're a different team playing a different sport. I had to delete the Albion app and unsibscribe to their comms with all the women's news flooding in my channels. Do not force your agenda, I do not care.

You could put it down to his Scottish brashness, he likes to act the big patriotic I do what and say what I want Jock, digging at the English at every opportunity.
Ignoring the fact he moved down in 1976 and never moved back in 50+ years.

He is not a dinosaur though, hundreds of thousands of folks think and act like him on numerous subjects.

I could put it down to him being a bullying, drunk twat yesterday morning. & I am.
I heard it live. It was more than that clip & it was horrible to listen to. Awful that she has to put up with it
