They should be back in the nets as soon as they are out. Not putting there feet up and having a cup of tea, unless they have really earned it. It is not as if Vaughan, Ambrose etc. are seeing much batting time as it is.

If Anderson can get his highest test score, and bat for 80 balls, then why cant Strauss , Vaghan, Pietersen. Bell etc

Flintoff, as I said BEFORE this test, has done NOTHING to justify his recall, and should now kindly piss off back to Lancashire to re-learn how to bat. Either that or bowl well enough in county cricket to actually justify his selection as just a bowler, ahead of Jones and Harmison who have each take A MILLION more wickets than him this season. If he does that then he can play as a bowler and bat like a KUNT at number 9. Twat.

He has never been a decent batsman in my opinion. Does not have the technique to stay around against decent bowlers in a match when really needed.

Slogger.

I do believe the lyrics to "I've never met a nice south african" should be posted at this point in time.

Nothing wrong with South Africans other than they thrash us at cricket and rugby. Tosspot.

What are the rules of 'rugby tosspot'? Is it some homoerotic, rugger-bugger 'bonding' thing?

I'm really pissed off about the team selections for this match. We're currently 285-9 and about to lose, but who the f*** decided Pattinson was the right pick??

The replacement selection for Sidebottom was a no-brainer - you bring back Hoggard on his home ground. The crowd would have given him a lift, it could have kick-strated his England career. Now he's obviously thinking his career is finished.

Stuart Broad is a handy bat but we're carrying him as a bowler. His contribution with the bat means he's worth perservering with but only if he's ably supported by 3 decent seamers. Pattinson does NOT meet this requirement. Neither Broad nor Pattinson have made much of an impact with the ball in this match.

I support the recall of Flintoff but am genuinely worried about the way Hoggard, Harmison and Jones are being treated, pre-Ashes. We have a dearth of quality bowlers and cannot afford to alienate what quality we do have.

So where do England go from here? Where does this impending defeat leave Pattinson? Is it over for Hoggy? What's with the rift between Harmison and the selectors?

What a f***-up! Why can't we do what the Australians do, which is to identify who our best 16 players are, then stick with them for a series.

Clearly, if a bloke with a British passport can take 30 county wickets at a decent average he's in the frame. For f***'s sake, it took the likes of Jaques, Hussey, McGill, Gilchrist 5 f***ing years to get a sniff of a starting spot in their test side!
