I can't help thinking this is a negotiating tactic so that accepting only a 20-30% land grab can be spun as 'compromise'.
Reuters reported that 3 Russian oil refineries have reduced their production due to losses and may have to close in the new year. Big shame.
Also reported that Ukraine hit weapons storage in Bryansk with drones yesterday: damage plus secondary explosions later. Russia said they missed completely... it's so hard to know who to believe

Yes, but it doesn't matter as long as Ukraine refuse. No one (Trump can try) can legitimately argue to Ukraine that it's right they give up some of it. You don't invade a country, fail, and then get to keep some of it.
A dystopian regime operating in a ramshackle way (despite their black-clad weirdo loyalists) with increasingly dilapidated infrastructure and depleted resources while also enjoying waning support. Meanwhile, their financial problems pile up around them.
And Russia's screwed as well.

And yet the West still rolls over & fall for it. If we had all stood up in the early days & given Ukraine the tools to win Ukraine would not be in the position it finds itself now, they would have won by now. Something many of us on here have already said & no doubt will say again.
