looks like they missed a letter from cuts
Strange - they bang on about corporates not paying their way yet one of them is holding an iPhone and another is wearing Adidas !!!!
looks like they missed a letter from cuts
Trick may have not been the right word but people will use any excuses to shift focus to suit their agendas. Sadly shite like this makes it all too easy to do that.A trick? By whom? I am sure that in many people's minds, defacing that monument has shown the people protesting up and has therefore invalidated their argument. People are not talking about what the protests are about, but what the protesters did, which defeats the object. I know they are only doing this for publicity (had they behaved it makes it less likely that they would not be on the news) but people are not saying "ooh, they may have a point there", they are saying "what a bunch of c****".
Do you really have to copy and paste in full from crappy far right websites? I'm betting even NSC's Tory voters find it dull.
Make your point in your own words
1. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/11805726.Unemployment_rate_in_Blackburn__Darwen_and_Burnley_above_average/ Somewhat dismisses that claim. Its still not great but not as bad as you paint.
2. I know the area quite well. The houses that were due for redevelopment are now being renovated, I know I've been in many of them! They sell for £15k, you can get an interest free loan from the council of £20k to renovate, and they are going for about £45 done. These end up being nice two/three bed properties, two people working min wage full time can easily afford them, in fact they are!
3. B Lair wanted the total amount of students to rise hugely he did this but someone had to pay for it.
4. Successive governments have outsourced I'm sure it will continue but the service itself will not be.
NSC seems to have a serious problem with generalising. "The left" is a broad spectrum.
While "the left" can include idealistic students, anarchist squatters and the rogue kind of scum bag that advocates violence or vandalises war memorials - greater in number are the academics or regular people who simply believe in a fairer society, where the most vulnerable are looked after and public services are kept as vital components of the wellbeing of all people.
Generalising and tarring "the left" with the same brush is as useful as claiming "the right" are all greedy, heartless or chauvinist. If society is to progress it is important that we have intelligent discussions about the disagreements between the left and right, rather than mindlessly picking teams and refusing to listen to the other side.
1 - yes does look quite positive in that report. Trouble is, I know too many who have lost their old full-time jobs and are now doing part-time, or very poorly paid work. They appear as 'employed' - but it's not what they had.
2 - I've been aware of this, the council loans are a great idea (if they continue to have enough to loan out). But that raises a whole new set of questions about Right-to-Buy and social housing, which we'd better not get into!! I hope that these houses don't get then sold on to a rapacious landlord, because if they do, the whole spiral begins again. Rents have shot up in some parts of the north, whilst house prices have stayed fairly still over the last 5-7 years.
3 - Yes, you're right, Slightly different point from the ploy/uni issue though. But I agree - there's no way the country as a whole could have afforded to fund the huge increase in students - without introducing some sort of charging system, it wouldn't have been sustainable. Again - this is one of those 'cause and effect' myopia issues that many of us have, and those who complain about tuition fees don't always have an alternative suggestion that's affordable.
4 - I think we're basically agreed on this.
Cheers - good points all round.
You appear to be conflicted ! So you will vote for a party that allows YOU to get a house and for YOU to go to Uni yet you suggest Tory voters only care about themselves
I happen to agree with that opinion, do you speak for NSC Tory voters or think you do.
Anyway
This is priceless, do you see the contradictions and not mention the rank arrogance in your post?
The bit where you say people only vote tory because they care about themselves, and then roll straight on to not getting your own house is brilliant.
Labour will be ****ed for ever if you represent their political future, neo socialists pissed off with tories because they can't get on the housing ladder.
You are more tory than many tories these days.........
F**king tree huggers, students, bored hippy housewives whos husbands earn millions and all live in mansions in Surrey and have f**k all better to do, druggies, alcoholics, squatters and other various stinking vermin.
9/10ths of which are only there for a day out to steal and smash up what they can, most not even knowing what it's all about.
Hardly any on the electoral register, none of them working or intend to work either.
Just the sort of wankers I utterly despised at University, most of which ran the Student Union.
Scum of the highest order.
Have I missed anything ?
Disgusting and appalling act of vandalism on a War Memorial dedicated to people and animals who died so fu*king little vile c**ts like that can live in peace and enjoy freedom and democracy.
Every one of those arrested should be jailed for a minimum of 10 years or more.
GRRRRRRRRR !!! rant over.
Neo socialist? Oh yes because you can tell that about me form one post, as I said to Westdene seagull I worded my post wrong, I wasn't only talking about myself I meant the majority of my age group won't be able to get their own house. Now if you want to have a sensible discussion about it then that is fine but don't start throwing statements such as "Neo socialist" about when you know nothing about me
Vandalising the memorial aside, I fail to see why people are getting so upset at protestors. The same democratic system that saw us able to choose a government on the 7th is the same system that upholds the right to peaceful protest.
I find it odd that the protest didn't take place before the vote, would have made more sense, or when the list of cuts is published later but protest they did and just as people had every right to vote the Tory government in they also have every right to protest it. Pointless and reactionary as that may be.
You do know that's an IDS parody account right?
looks like they missed a letter from cuts
no one under thirty should be allowed anywhere near a ballot box
