[Albion] Potter- what’s he up to? (Managing West Ham from 9 Jan)

Seems to me that Potter's been hovering around "potential employers" for some time, like a grim albatross and simply waiting for the next "big club" manager/colleague to get the bullet so that he can step in and look good.
I know that generally this is the way of things nowadays (particularly in the Premier League), but this one just seems to me to be particularly nasty, and has been orchestrated by a man who I still can't forgive, or trust, and who's reputation is much more inflated than his delivery has been thus far.

Why do failed football managers get rewarded when they get the sack and again when they get a new job?
With a pocket full of cash and all the pressures of the job, why do they then need a new job anyway?

My brother is a lifelong WHU supporter and he thinks that the club have acted abominably in how they've treated their erstwhile manager, and suggests that most of his circle of friends are unexcited about the potential of Potter taking over.

Whinge over. Just my personal opinions (and my brothers) and all that.

Don’t mind admitting I am jealous of West Ham tonight. At least with Potter you immediately see what he is trying to do. I’m still wholly unconvinced by FH. I know it’s not the majority view but I wish he had come back in the summer.
It is what it is!

If failing and being sacked by the basket case of club that Chelsea is precluded you from future jobs some of the best managers in the world would never work again.

What he did with us when given time was outstanding so don’t think he is over inflated.

Blimey - and he was worried about being chased down the street by Chelsea fans, he'll have both sets on him now

I think West Ham will be a good fit. Its just (like Chelsea) down to whether he'll be given time. They must be crying out to watch great football and Potter will give them that - like he did for us, if they're patient.

Nah mate. I heard a stat on Saturday. In 2023 (10 months of which was Potter) we scored 46 home league goals. In 2024 which was half RDZ and half FH we scored 21. We were absolutely flying when he left us.
Season or calendar year? Potter left in 2022.

Potter winds me up. I want to like him for all the good he did (and there was a lot) but then I want to roundhouse kick his sucky in teeth for being a complete prick when he walked out with half the club.

RDZ had us the second top scorers in Europe, Marseille are now banging them in every week 😔
I can't find calendar year stats, only PL season stats. Since promotion our goals scored each season in the Premier League is:

17/18: 34
18/19: 35
19/20: 39
20/21: 40
21/22: 42
22/23: 72
23/24: 55
24/25: 30 from 20 games.

Oh fair enough 😊

That’s a strange stat as Potter jumped ship in September 2022 so didn’t actually manage us in 2023.
