[Albion] Potter- what’s he up to? (Managing West Ham from 9 Jan)

You mean his presser might be a banal series of platitudes... with the emphasis on banal. I hope he's brushed up on his history because he's joining one of the biggest clubs in world football... No history lesson required - surely ?

One thing he won't need to brush up on is his teeth.

Like I said originally, this is a great appointment for all the wrong reasons - I can't wait to see how long the GP love in lasts... lose to us away and it'll be tricky lol.
Yep. Joking aside I think he will do well there and given time, will turn them into a top 6/8 team. Thing is, if he does well will he bugger off if say spurs come calling?

Never mind Spurs. If he does well there he will be top line for the England job in 18 months time.

I agree he could do well there - but the key phrase is "given time", I think. And yes, off like a shot when the chance comes (like most managers, to be fair, though surely few do it as potentially damagingly as Potter did to us)

Really annoyingly excellent appointment for West Ham.

It’s really going to piss me me off wheh we play them knowing they’ve got a better manager and tactics/plan than us for the first time in years.
We are currently playing pretty football, looking dangerous but then utterly clueless in the final 3rd. We are also letting in a basic failing daft goal nearly every game.

This is exactly how we played for the majority of Potter's reign!

The way Hammers have treated Loppy it's like you almost expect the new guy (Potter or whoever else) is waiting outside until the old guy leaves!
Maybe it will be like Peter Odemwingie and he is sitting outside the London Stadium but in the end has to go home but without a new club

It's nothing like how we played under Potter. We're quite exciting to watch this season, mainly due to playing chaosball, and we are having some very frustrating results at times like we did under Potter but the style of football is very different.

We were much more organised, disciplined and harder to break down and created more and better chances under Potter with generally worse players for most of the time. We had a great structure that was easy to identify and all of the players in and out of possession knew their roles inside out.

I'm not getting into the pro/anti Potter debate now but to say we're playing exactly like how we played under Potter is wrong. I also like Hurzeler and hope in time he grows to become a top manager but to me at the moment, Potter is a superior manager.

Fair enough.

To me, a long win less run whilst playing almost good football is entirely reminiscent of the Potter era.

I've no great feelings either way about the bloke, we had good times under him and some long and drawn out almost spells. What I will say is that he is a project coach and needs the time to build. Not convinced the Happy Hammers will be patient enough.

What an utter car crash of a club we are. I never took to Loppy but that's an appalling way to treat an employee.
God knows why anyone, let alone Potter, would take the job

Awful treatment of Lopetegui, but I think Potter will be a great appointment for you
