... And we are off. The endless argument.

Which of our previous managers was better before they decided we weren't good enough for them?

For me? I wish them all the best. They are gone. Move on.

Do you think it's a game of two halves?

If I get any more of this inspirational analysis from you I may have to volunteer to come round your house to help you with a bit of DIY.
Plumbing, electrics, I am sure I could do a job.
I have absolutely no knowledge, insight or experience of these trades, but I have something far more important than that.
Certainty.

And, also, you would love my bantz.

Deal?

DIY? How to insult a pro tradesman with three letters 🤣
Joking aside If all goes to plan I’m building two houses in leafy Surrey this year always welcome to join the site bantz and get your hands dirty.

only a few teams have a recognisable way imo, over a long period of time.
Arsenal with their short , quick intricate passing for one.
West Ham have been all over the place for years. No way.

That was Arsenal before they hired the Brentford corners expert.

Now Pulis ball and cheating.

The problem with Potter is that he is weak.
Proved that by thinking he had to change his personality at Chelsea.
And he couldn’t cope with the pressure of the fan base
West Ham will be worse.
Do we honestly believe that after a few games where they have 70% possession and don’t win, that the LondonStadium will politely clap the team off
Right, so the bloke who took us to tenth place at the end of the season (our highest ever position at the time) in which we beat Man Utd 4-0, Arsenal and Spurs away all within a few short weeks. The man who was touted to be the next England manager, admired by other clubs and their fans for his brand of football. Potter, like him or loathe him, set the template for our style of football today.

Yes, the worst decision he made was (1) to leave us mid-season and (2) to be suckered into the worst poison chalice club in the country who gave him no time whatsoever.

By all means criticise his judgement on that one but Potter is a long term solution not a short term fix. He proved that with us and that’s what Chelsea wanted until he got shafted by them.

Indeed. West Ham, a club and fanbase who are entitled AF for absolutely no good reason should be fine with a succession of low scoring draws, high possession numbers and 2.5 xG. It's what they live for.

Lulz no not yet... not even seen the rumour (been up to other stuff) but I guess it isn't surprising.

Missed your ping as I have this thread on ignore (it just, despite the gnore, popped up among the "Latest replies" list next to the "We all follow the Albion"-category) as I got pretty tired of all the sob sisters who years later are still hurt by GPs decision to leave. Its silly.

Lets face it, if he had been as shit as some people repeatedly say, they wouldn't have been arsed talking about him for even five minutes after he left.
But its been years now. People need to move on like adults do, despite the Peter Pan syndrome of the average footy fan.

Now back to forgetting this thread and the clingy sob sisters.
If Potter does go to West Ham, will you remain a Brighton 'fan' - or will your allegiance transfer to WHU? Have you become brightonised in your sojourn on NSC?

Can you remember any manager in the history of our club for whom it ended well?

Someone (I think it was Enoch Powell) once wrote that all political careers end in failure.
Almost all managerial careers end in acrimony.

When it doesn't it is because the manager bails out due to ill health (Fergy),
or is kept on beyond their sell-by date due to sentiment like Joe Biden.
The non Brian Clough associated Peter Taylor? Came in, won league 2, left respectfully.

I just hope the houses have better foundations than some of your football opinions! 🤪
Sadly my early door opinions have become factual.
Whilst many got carried away with early season results it wasn’t hard to notice we aren’t structured on the pitch.
My foundations will be just fine FH needs to work on his 😉

I really hope he takes the job, one where he'll be at a club who expect to win trophy's and qualify for Europe whilst playing attacking football so attractive that the world calls it the West Ham way. It'll be perfect fit for someone who relishes winning things, excels under high pressure with an expectant (dare I say) entitled fan base bringing the best out of him, much like we saw at Chelsea...

I'm sure he'll love coaching Kudus to cut back and play it safe, whilst making sure the BIG players respect him for his vast array of managerial achievements.

It's another match made in heaven, and surely only unbridled success awaits.

The cherry on the cake however, is that we'll inevitably see less of a certain poster who'll doubtless be readying his notes/essays on why Graham is a born winner with the strength of personality to succeed at a club which demands regular forays into Europe, with anything less than 8th place being rewarded with a sacking or mutual agreement to part ways. Great stuff.

Like I say, the sooner he takes the job the better - yey!

Can’t wait to see non league Billy back on the touch line. All his other ‘ mates ‘ he got decent jobs for decided to keep them and still have them. Well apart from always a Seagull Bruno🤣
