Last week filled my lorry up twice, £1,840.67. This is both tanks 1 holding 1,000 ltrs the other 450ltrs. This week I will probably only have to fill once.

Luckily I was able to fill up at one of my companies distribution centers, they have own tanks and bulk buy 40,000 ltrs at a time so are able to negotiate a price, I think they paid was 101p/p/l.
We have put In place various measures to reduce the cost our customers pay, like rather than every 6 weeks our vehicles go to the maximum of 8 week intervals for safety inspections, and keeping our vehicles an extra 18 months before replacing them. At least we are trying to absorb as much as possible before passing it on to our customers.

She's just been on C4 news - her solution, build a new wind farm, it could be fast-tracked to be online in TWO years.

Renewables are currently generating 50% of our power. Increasing the number of windfarms and solar PV facilities will only increase this (as well as other renewable energy sources).

Coupled with increasing battery and energy storage facilities renwable power will only increase further. The industry will also create jobs and be a benefit to the economy.

Baseloads can be met with gas fired power stations and our existing nuclear sites, ramped downs over time and, if/when required in the short-term, gas fired peaking plant.

There is also the option of increasing interconnectors, but that requires some form of political guarantees, stability and close cooperation...

Unfortunately its not Rip off as you put it, With prices rising daily for purchasing, retailers need to be able to afford product when next ordered, they can not do that by keeping the price artificially low.

I see Ireland is looking to cut excise duty on fuel until August to help combat increases.

Worth remembering that the exchequer (over here) benefits from higher fuel prices with an increased VAT take …

At £1.75/litre, on cars alone, our retail spend on petrol and diesel would be £45b per annum.

Putting to one side the swings and ‘roundabouts’ in state coffers of VAT/duty, say that £1.25/litre is a pump price that keeps everyone extremely happy, should the government borrow a further £13b per annum to subsidise our driving? Plus factor in that for 5m high miles commercial vehicles.

What are similar nations such as France, Italy, Spain and Germany doing at this stage?

Filled up at Tesco Holmbush today, £1.57.9 for a litre of unleaded. Reading this thread, feels like I got a BARGAIN.

Who knows what it'll be next time I go pumping, but at least WFH 3 out of 5 days a week, a tank lasts a lot longer.
