I quite enjoyed Troy. The battle between Achilles and Hector outside the gates of Troy is one of the best fight sequences ever put to film. In my opinion.Icy Gull said:Troy, I cringed at how ham it was

Agreed, thats an impressive sequence. But I was thinking more of a straight one-on-one fight. The speed and brutality of the Achilles v Hector scrap is astonishingly realistic and brilliantly filmed. None of this sudden close-up or shaky "action-cam" rubbish that blurs the edges and deceives the eye. Its just a superbly choreographed piece of action, an outstanding highlight in a fairly average film.Icy Gull said:Fight scene in Germania at the beginning of Gladiator is, by some margin imo

Uncle Spielberg said:Yes Schindler's List, ET, Close Encounters and Duel were utter shite
We've been here before but I have pretty major issues with someone attempting to portray the worst crime ever committed in human history in the conventional movie format. But - for once - I'm leaving it at that.Uncle Spielberg said:Yes Schindler's List, ET, Close Encounters and Duel were utter shite

Uncle Spielberg said:Strange how people see and enjoy films differently. I thought Duel a brilliant low budget movie that relied on fast action, great story telling and suspense and Jaws and ET both also mentioned were superb efforts. Certainly to have any of those 3 on the thread Worst Film Ever makes a mockery of the whole thread.
mmmm, I think I'll nominate
The Godfather
The Godfather 2
Citizen Kane
Pulp Fiction
