I'm not panicking, hopefully we get the right amount of money for Hammond. Then we can use that to sign this Rochdale Striker.

But we don't really need a striker we need a centre midfielder and a wide player who can provide the ammunition for Forster.

I,m not going at the moment because of DK. He,s clearly shown that he doesn,t want Championship football...and each time we,ve got there while he,s been in charge..........he,s made bloody sure we come back down again. Why should I support the team in the hope of victory, to spur us on to Championship football , when the Chairman doesn,t share my view.

I don't buy that at all. Sorry.

Controversy sells far more newspapers than mere truth ever did.

When clubs that have home crowds four time ours can go into administration, it is as near a miracle as is possible to imagine that we are in existence at all.

I've just 'flown' over Falmer again on Google Earth, still having to imagine what our stadium will look like, but happily realising that it won't be many months before we will see the groundwork starting.

Right now there must be the first drawings of what it will really really be like must be in progress, not just fancy conceptual sketches.

Don't panic!

If you'd have been an Albion fan at any time in the THIRTY-SIX YEARS between 1920 and 1956, would you have boycotted games on the basis that there wasn't a cat in hell's chance of promotion to the Second Division?

if my nan had balls she would of been my grandad....total pointless point lb its now 2008....

OK. If we get a promotion every six years, we are performing better than most teams.

Every four years would be brilliant.

So far this century, we've had three in six seasons.

And two of them were a complete waste of time. League 1 has become DK,s personal comfort zone.

harty hit the nail on the head take 1 millon pound of the falmer money and spend it on players.

With respect vulture....actually, no f*** it. With NO respect whatsoever, that remark is f***ing IDIOTIC whatever way you slice it (and I was shouting at my radio in the car when I heard that claptrap from Harty).

If you want a quickfire short term all-out gamble to earn the Albion a season or two in the Championship, then by all means, lets dip into this mythical Falmer pot, pull a million squid out, and spunk it all over a few diamond-earringed superstars who are (of course) guaranteed to haul us out of this division.

OR - you can take a quick look at the likes of Luton and Bournemouth who have basically bankrupted themselves, and who will be probably be playing in the basement division next August, IF they are still fortunate enough to be solvent.

If you go to a bank and ask for a mortgage on a £200k property, you don't ask to borrow £250k so you can also f*** off on a holiday and buy a flash car. THAT is effectively what you are suggesting the Albion do.

Get REAL.

Yeah but tickets aren't 2p nowadays - if they were, the ground would be full every week, with people just wanting to watch the football and hope we win.

Now, we're paying £25, and people EXPECT entertainment and a winning team.

So there's quite a lot of 'boycotters' at the moment, and the number will only grow as long as we're dull and challenging for nothing:)

Just noticed this reply.

If the Chairman in the above period (1920-1956), decided that once the manager had built a decent side, capable of winning, or attempting to win the league, to effectively disband that group......then, yes, I wouldn,t bother going.
Arsenal, Man utd, Chelsea etc etc wont get promotion from the Premiership..........but they ARE trying to win the title..........it,s important to them..........AND THEIR SUPPORTERS...!

Does this answer your stupid question sufficiently...?

The mythical Falmer pot from which Harty says take a million from is the pot that MP has repeatedly said would be created by obtaining permission to build Falmer. Onnumerous occassions he has catergorically stated nthat when permission was granted a new companywould be formed aand all the money spent on legal fees for falmer would be repaid to the football club. That is the pot that people are suggesting could be borrowed aqgainst to strengthen the team to try for promotion.

Does it matter what terminology you use but the money could be used to the benefit of the team and would then in all probability show an increase in the gate which in turn brings in more money.
