What I find laughable is the Dick Knight fan club, who have writtten about 10,000,000 words on why the club shouldn't invest in the team in the January transfer window, saying the club should instead invest only in the club's future at Falmer... with the signing of Murray for £300,000, do they now accept that they WERE WRONG?

As I pointed out about 100 times, Dick and the board had to come to the realisation that they had to look after the "now", as well as the future... much credit to them for doing so...

BoF, Yorkie, TLO, etc... do you now accept you were wrong?

Brilliant!

What you have to remember BW is that the people you mention cannot be seen to remotely criticize DK. If he said it was snowing in Queens Road they would rush out and buy a pair of skis without even looking or checking.

Where did I say that we shouldn't invest in the team? You are putting words into my mouth. All I have said is that if there isn't any money, then we can't spend it. and we mustn't over extend ourselves. Thankfully, Tony Bloom has come up trumps.

I am not going to accept I am wrong to a false charge. :p

Rubbish. I am not interested in a character assassination of the man, when the only facts we have is speculation from a whole variety of people. Of course he has made mistakes, but there is no point dragging them out i.e. ticket prices etc.

No. I have NEVER said we shouldn't invest in the team. Nor do I agree that we should not invest in the team.

So who the f*** do you think you are that you can go out to misrepresent me or tell lies about me?

This is hilarious... you have repeatedly claimed that we couldn't possibly invest in the team because we need to only invest in Falmer, we just can't afford it, etc. etc... YOU WERE WRONG!

B.W. - you are being a TIT, on this. No two ways about it.

People advocated thriftiness in response to the mindless 'spend, spend, spend' clamour. Their point was that we had to trust those in power to know what THEY COULD AFFORD to spend on the playing side, and no more.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that we should not attempt to sign any players regardless, and your suggestion of such, is disingenious. And boring.

It's quite worrying when the superb Forster comes out and says this stuff. Hopefully the Murray signing will solve the 'lack of ambition' problem. I get the feeling it's contracts that probably bother the players most though.

Forster's just signed a contract... for 3 years (I think)... why would he be worrying about his contract ?

There is nothing to wriggle out of. You are telling out and out lies about me. Find me a post where I said all our efforts must be directed at Falmer and none at the playing side, and I will acknowledge it.

Until then, you are a liar. And a pathetic one at that.

No I am not, TLO... you and your cronies go on and on about the fact that we cannot afford to invest in the squad, whilst I pointed out that we had to... and we have...

Why do you refuse to make the distinction between what we 'can afford' to spend, and 'should' spend?

You'll be surprised to hear I totally disagree with you... these people go on and on about the need to be 'thrifty', but fail to see the effect this WAS having on the squad, results and, most importantly, the attendance at Withdean...

I pointed out the downward spiral we WERE on... no investment in team, poor results, declining league position, falling attendance... TLO, BoF et al just produced the same old claptrap about no money to spend... well, we have spent... who is wrong here?

B.W., the board have continued to be 'thrifty'... because they have spend within our means. There were several people on this board promoting the 'take £1m out of the Falmer pot and spend it on the squad' attitude which was, and still is, completely and totally wrong. It looks like Bloom has put his hand in his pocket for the club (again) and we have some new signings. Had he not done so, I suspect that we would not have had any signings. If the club does not have the money to spend, it is imperative that they do not spend it. Or would you rather we ended up like Leeds were, and teams like Luton are?
