I really hope the board is a bit more proactive, takes note and acts. I think they should call ALL players in to a meeting, state their intentions (which I hope are to invest enough to get into the Championship without jeopardising our club) and convince them of this.

It would be nice to have enough money to do this.

I would like to think this would happen but I some how doubt it if we are offered a good fee for Hammond he will go.

As soon as DK smells anything more than a fiver........he,ll take it.It,s the giving out of money he has a problem with.

JUst read the article and I'm really surprised by some of the defensive comments being made. Open your eyes everyone! We've been saying for sometime on here that DK doesn't want us to go up until we get Falmer because we can't afford it..... now it seems clear and understandable that DK is making sure that we don't get promoted until we're financially ready. However this policy is bound to rebound with players who are ambitious and has resulted in division in the team. DK has to come out and make a stand... are we tryinng for promotion or not and if not we all have to resign ourselves to our better players being unhappy and leaving. I suspect DK is not making a mistake.. he is just staying true to the belief he has always had that we shouldn't go up until we're ready to stay up. Do I agree with him? How the hell should I know but the last thing I want is division in the dressing room so let's clear the air and get it sorted.

I believed that was a loan wasn,t it...? Whether he sees that money back or not, we don,t know.Maybe that may show his ability on his investment ideas.....?
When we,re talking about wages or transfer fees, they,re "given out".....not loans.

Who is willing to take over and who is willing to put sums of money into a loss making venture? Gold? McCartney? Mr Tetrapak?

bof,I would think someone that wants control of the club.Knight is a classic case of someone not wanting to let go....

Well, I hope so. We can't have Dick forever. However, I do think it is important that we keep the board in tact with the stadium funding and tender process under way.

I really think we are just going to have to be patient... :(

I am holding out for some further transfer market activity, which is a must if they do not want crowds to slip below the 5,000 mark regularly.

Everyone on Euromillions tomorrow I hope! £51m rollover :clap2:

with crowds falling, players leaving, can we afford to be,harty hit the nail on the head take 1 millon pound of the falmer money and spend it on players. No use having a 22,000 crowd with a hardcore base of 4000.Action needed now by the chairman and board.
Be honest how many friends or fans do u know that used to be die-hard and now dont go...and why dont they go....

Yes action is needed and I am sure they are trying, but it is never easy when we struggle to sell the club to players with our financial constraints. I am sure you realise that we don't want to get into the position of being up to our ears in bank loans, when there is no guarantee that we would be able to pay them off. We are going to have to be pretty thrifty to get the stadium off the ground.

To be perfectly honest, a lot of my friends are not football fans. A vast proportion of my friends are from boarding school and Uni, so do not have close ties to Brighton. I am working on converting an ex-flatmate (Arsenal fan, but been to five or six games this season) and a Liverpool (TV) fan that gets coaxed down now and again.

DK needs to address this situation and deal with it quickly, or I could see this club going down faster then the Titantic. And to me that is very worrying indeed.

I don't think there is an Albion fan out there who is not worried by our dwindling crowds/fanbase. Personally I think the reasons are the 'Withdean experience', and simply cost. We have the worst facilities in the league for some of the highest prices. That is something the club do need to address. Withdean isn't going to get any better but at least it needs to be cheaper. The board walk a tight rope, though, as overheads are already high and the money needs to come from somewhere. The idea of "taking £1m of the Falmer money" to spend on the team is ridiculous. Do you really think that the board are sitting on some pot of gold marked 'Falmer' they can just dip into if they fancy? And even if they were.... the stadium is more important.
