So we should trust the Tories with their recent impressive run of fiscal management?

I hadn’t realised you were pro Momentum/McDonnell economics, over anything else.

As a big pro European, and environmentally minded person, wouldn’t you like the policies on offer by the LibDems along with say the Greens? The latter might finally gain extra seats, to be part of a coalition.

The best situation for the Labour Party is to get trounced - the hard left mps & Corbyn and his misfits will be consigned to history & a moderate leaning mp will come to the fore - one step back & two steps forward and all of that

Yes indeed all we need is a second string pale pink tory outfit that cuddles up in bed with the neo-liberals in brussels

probably not, that wasnt the question. when the stated policy of a party is a promise to increase the debt by 30% in a parliament, one can decide thats not a good idea.

Stranger things have happened I suppose, but it looks like Jezza will finally meet his Waterloo on the 12th December.

If that is the case, who is likely to be next Labour leader and will they manage to wrest control of Labour back from Momentum? Or will Jezza just carry on? Surely he can't, can he?

Corbyn has MASSIVE support among the doe-eyed idealists, students and unwashed. He will remain leader of the labour party until his death in 20 or so years time. No compromise with the electorate.

Sadly, the man puts his socialist vision above pest control (keeping the currently verminous tories at bay).

It doesn't matter what I want, my vote is worthless.
So worthless in fact I have very little interest in everyday politics.

But still I know the Tories are bent as bent can be.
I have very little faith in Labour holding together long enough to see anything through.

Hence being #TeamKeir because he seems decent.
A fella who might not screw me over and 'normal' enough keep Labour together.

As low-bars go, they don't get much lower.

The only other option is Lib/Dem because they have the best tits.

The OP judged a post GE world where JC will retire, after another election defeat. The vast majority of people according to the polls on his non-effectiveness and the bookies have him down as losing again. I guess there’s an element of simply wondering what might’ve been with a moderate agenda and someone like Starmer, Benn, Cooper or Kinnock at the helm.

You could’ve been looking at being three years in a New Labour type government right now.

I get all that. I was just moving it on as to why he is feared. I actually want proper reasons and not what the polls tell us about his lack of popularity..... I have his possible overspending so far.... let’s carry on though.

I met Keir Starmer several times before I retired. He is a very genuine intelligent man.

The Labour party will do what Seamus Milne tells them to do.

Why is everyone so scared of JC ?

I want to see all the reasons on this thread.

He wears the wrong coat ? I remember a poster on here saying at one time " Corbyn hates this country " ….. which rather made me think that Corbyn's one of us if he's still here.

True, but equally the best situation for the Tory Party is to get trounced - the hard right mps & Boris and his swivel-eyed loons will be consigned to history & a moderate leaning mp will come to the fore - one step back & two steps forward and all of that
