He could make a few championship clubs, but on the whole he is young with ability, and league 1 now to make an impact is his right division.Yes we're the right club going in the right direction.

I started this post by telling you about my nephew and his flat (or house) share with another guy who is working over the summer at the chronicle in Newcastle. And now I have an update! I saw my nephew last Monday and told him to text for an update - which he did.

He got a reply Thursday and only just sent it to me.

'LL out of twn signing for some1. likely btn. likely perm. u r welcome to the prima donna if it happens!'

that's it.

'Likely perm'

So why did Newcastle give him a 4 yr contract only a few months ago? So I got told on here...?

I'm pretty sure that was just a rumour on here. Might be wrong but I had a little search and I couldn't see anything on any news/ official site.

The Argus said a while ago that his deal ran out at the end of this season, too.

I know Hans Kraay Fan Club Huffer was one of the ones SPOUTING this little bit of info about but didn't ever come back to me on it when I asked if it was true... MAYBE he'll explain on THIS thread...?

Yesterday a chap, an old Arsenal scout, was explaining why we wont get Lua Lua and it makes sense. The new Premiership rules allow them to register 25 players, outside of that they can only use any other players who have been with the club for 3 years and therefore considered as home grown/ produced, so it is logical that they will want to kep hold of him in case of emergency rather than allow him to go to a club like BHA on loan. Should we decide to buy him that would be a different kettle of fish buit as regards a loan I think it will be a no go. Not saying this definite but a logical view.

Except he wasn't good enough to get into their Championship side so what hope has he of getting a run out in the Premier League? I reckon he'll go somewhere, just not necessarily here.

Mark on the Argus site (who hasn't been wrong once yet with signings) says we are due to get Lua Lua and a striker with the possibilty of another CB?

Happy days if true.

He's actually wrong an awful lot. No disrespect to the guy but realistically coming out and saying "we're going to get Lua Lua" hardly makes him Nostradamus. He predicted Barnes, Lua Lua a centre back and a centre mid... Kudos on predicting that we'll sign players in the positions Gus has said he's looking for.

Still, on the Lua Lua front. I kinda hope we don't sign him on a perm. He'll lash out and get sent off! Is it some initiation we do now?!

In Tony Bloom's programme notes yesterday he said:

"It is no secret that we would like to bring Kazenga LuaLua back to the club - and we are hopeful of concluding a deal before the end of August."

Maybe I'm looking too much into it but does "concluding a deal" sound like it could be a perm?

Could be! Lets hope! It'd be great to see him in the stripes again season long loan or perm would be a great move for us.

Don't think that is correct. You cannot add to the 25 man squad until the next transfer window and then when that closes you can nominate a new 25 man squad. Of the 25, 8 must be home grown players, ie have been registered with English clubs in the 3 years up until their 21st birthday although not necessarily with the same club. Only in exceptional circumstances can you add to the squad outside the transfer windows, ie all your goalkeepers are injured.
