If they decided he wasn't good enough for the first team in the Championship, I don't see them needing him for the Premiership. As Albumen says, could come down to personal choice, a season keeping the bench warm, or 40+ matches of first team experience for a team he has respect for?

I see where your coming from but i reckon it will be another year or two until Newcastle decide whether LuaLua is good enough or not.

Well, Given that he's only got this year left on his contract they don't really have that luxury. He won't be playing for Newcastle after this year. He certainly isn't good enough for the Premiership. Just depends if we get lucky and he decides to drop down here.

A perm deal would be good for all involved, IMHO...

Newcastle - offload a player they didn't see as good enough for Championship, let alone Prem...

Lua Lua - has publicly stated he likes playing at the Albion...

Brighton - resolve their left-winger problem on perm basis...

Everyone's a winner! :)

Make it happen!

Spoken like a true buffoon, tell me were you born a wanker or did your father teach you ? I wouldn't mind but there are so many people who talk knowledgeably when it's clear that they're as ignorant as you.

Under your skin.
Season long loan with a fee agreed for next season IF Newcastle are still in the prem?

Having been slightly burnt from repeating what I overheard about adam barrett on my visit to the Amex I am a little reluctant to tell you all this... but hey, in for a penny!

My nephew is at uni (or could be college) in Newcastle. He rents a room of a guy who works for the Chronicle up there. The other day, out of the blue, this guy stops my nephew and says 'Brighton are trying to get Lua Lua on a permie... by the way.'

And that it appears was the extent of the conversation. Now my nephew not being a football fan didn't think to ask more and it would appear his blank response to the statement stopped the info flow in its tracks. He is now bck down south for the summer so I can't nag him to dig deeper.

Obviouly the whole world knows we want him, but it is often quoted that the deal will be a season long loan. It might be that is all Newcastle want, but it appears we may have put a bid in. Maybe that is where the big spend is going to be. Either way, I told my nephew he was a twat for not asking more.

Seems only fair.
To be fair, I heard the name Adam Barrett in a conversation between Martin Hinshelwood and one of the scouts on Saturday so I guess we were interested at one stage.

I agree with pork pie.
Your the bell end that clicked on the thread.
Some of us enjoy the gossip.
If you don't, piss off.

Pork pie land.
I like this and the Townsend rumour also. Maybe because it has a small chance of happening.

I think most of us do. We have been starved of good football for so long (but we had effective football with BZ) that we all long for the day when we have a team playing football worth watching, with a team to be proud of.

Trouble with Lua Lua is that at a higher level (even the championship) he would have to perform. There would have to be an end product. Whereas with us, in League 1 we can all applaud his pacey, mazy runs which more often than not end up in a goal kick, him falling over or an easy clearance, knowing that one day he could be a player.

Don't get me wrong I would love him to come back to us. My point is we are the best option for him at present. League 1 is his level right now.
