Mark on the Argus site (who hasn't been wrong once yet with signings) says we are due to get Lua Lua and a striker with the possibilty of another CB?

Happy days if true.

hmmm........ think that is a liberal interpretation of what was said to be fair. In the past he has made specific prophecies of signings and has been remarkably accurate indicating that he works for the club in some capacity. This appeared to be more along the lines of general comment of what we need/hope for. Still, we live in hope

I think this is perfectly feasible. No different to us picking up Bennett from Wolves last summer. A player who is on the fringe at best of a team in The Championship, who get promoted to the Prem, leaving the player MILES from a spot in the team.

Meanwhile, he's not really played enough Championship football to have the Championship teams fighting for his signature.

Could happen.
Totally agree, oh and kudos to the original poster for setting his nephew straight on such a lame back up effort after hearing this, twat indeed.....

Lua Lua update

I started this post by telling you about my nephew and his flat (or house) share with another guy who is working over the summer at the chronicle in Newcastle. And now I have an update! I saw my nephew last Monday and told him to text for an update - which he did.

He got a reply Thursday and only just sent it to me.

'LL out of twn signing for some1. likely btn. likely perm. u r welcome to the prima donna if it happens!'

that's it.

I can't believe he would come to us on a perm. Would be amazing if he did though. Would just be happy to see him here in any capacity.

I do hope you are right, and the perm signing would explain why Gus has been so patient. Or is that just wishfull thinking? ???

Gus was apparently unable to attend the supporters' club AGM last night as he was busy negotiating for a player. Maybe it was Lua Lua. Then again, maybe his wife just didn't want him flirting with Costa and co.

I would be very surprised if we get him on a permanent deal. Not sure Newcastle would want to let him go yet, and if they are, whether he would want to commit to a League One team.

Not saying it's impossible, just seems improbable.

Maybe he sees us as an upand coming team, where he enjoys the attention from the fans and likes the other passengers on the Gus Bus?

having read his twitter he don't seem to mind telling people he don't know what he is up to football wise so stranger things have happened.
