FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Trouble with Lua Lua is that at a higher level (even the championship) he would have to perform. There would have to be an end product. Whereas with us, in League 1 we can all applaud his pacey, mazy runs which more often than not end up in a goal kick, him falling over or an easy clearance, knowing that one day he could be a player.

Don't get me wrong I would love him to come back to us. My point is we are the best option for him at present. League 1 is his level right now.

I agree with that to a certain extent, proabably 15 of those championship sides think they are going to be pushing for promotion as it stands....if he went to any of these sides how many are going to throw him in there starting 11 ?....id guess not many, he would end up being an impact sub

Hes better getting a football education with us, getting good game time.

Not doubting you've been told this but Gus has said from day 1 that a long term loan is the only chance and not a permanant move. We know that we'd have enquired about a perm move a few months ago or whatever but thought we were told loan is the only possible option? In which case this bloke who works for the paper could've just been saying something we all knew anyway?

That could well be the case or just maybe Gus is trying to pull a fast one by not alerting too many other clubs! I wonder how much they would ask for him though?

Having been slightly burnt from repeating what I overheard about adam barrett on my visit to the Amex I am a little reluctant to tell you all this... but hey, in for a penny!

My nephew is at uni (or could be college) in Newcastle. He rents a room of a guy who works for the Chronicle up there. The other day, out of the blue, this guy stops my nephew and says 'Brighton are trying to get Lua Lua on a permie... by the way.'

And that it appears was the extent of the conversation. Now my nephew not being a football fan didn't think to ask more and it would appear his blank response to the statement stopped the info flow in its tracks. He is now bck down south for the summer so I can't nag him to dig deeper.

Obviouly the whole world knows we want him, but it is often quoted that the deal will be a season long loan. It might be that is all Newcastle want, but it appears we may have put a bid in. Maybe that is where the big spend is going to be. Either way, I told my nephew he was a twat for not asking more.

Seems only fair.

I think this is perfectly feasible. No different to us picking up Bennett from Wolves last summer. A player who is on the fringe at best of a team in The Championship, who get promoted to the Prem, leaving the player MILES from a spot in the team.

Meanwhile, he's not really played enough Championship football to have the Championship teams fighting for his signature.

Could happen.

Good God I would love it if this was true. I would go as far as to say it would probably be the most excited I have ever been over a transfer. His pace is so good to watch!

So, with Jim and James going out on loan, does this free up more money for Lua Lua's wages?
