I’ve been thinking about this, and after @Triggaaar suggested that I shouldn’t be posting mouth watering food pictures, I thought “Why not?”. Especially if it can encourage others to enjoy food while eating healthier. Why shouldn’t you eat tasty food while trying to loose weight? Great food doesn’t have to be calorie laden. Here’s a picture of tonight’s supper, calculated at around 608KCal if you half the butter from this recipe and use skimmed milk:
Butter 20g 142KCal (half in the mash, and half frying the liver, onion & bacon)
Mushrooms 60g 12KCal (optional, not in the recipe but I like mushrooms)
Lean unsmoked back bacon 75g 160KCal (hey, use smoked if you prefer)
Maris Piper potatoes 165g 125KCal (or other floury variety)
Calves Liver 150g 200KCal (other animal liver’s available)
1/2 Red Onion 70g 28KCal (on reflection, white onion may have been better)
Whole milk 1FlOz 18KCal (In the mash. Use skimmed if you have no taste buds!)
OXO Cube - Negligible calories
Water - No calories that I’m aware of (I’m prepared to be shot down on this!)

Liver and bacon with onion gravy - Recipes - Hairy Bikers
A good plate of liver and bacon has always been one of our favourite meals so we're dead chuffed that we can still enjoy it. Serve with lots of greens and a smidgen of mash.
