Yes - I'll be there.

Excellent taste. Hope they do as much from the Teenage Depression album as Life On The Line. Wonder if Barrie's still up to speaker stack jumps and crowd surfing? Possibly not, judging by his photo :lolol:

Looking forward to great guitar work from Richard Holgarth - I've seen him with Otway a few times.

Me + 7.

Looking forward to seeing Deerhunter play Cryptograms and Microcastle, as well as The Breeders, No Age and Black Lips- otherwise I don't know?? Panda Bear and Dan Deacon are OK I guess. A bit dissapointed with the lineup and it's no real suprise it'll be the last summer ATP particularly with how badly its sold. It's a real shame because ATP has given me some of the best times but at least they'll still be doing the 'don't look back' events and their stages at Primavera and Pitchfork.

Ah well Deerhunter and The Breeders will make it worthwile.

In the last few weeks I've been to see Wytches at the Hope which was ****ing great, I hope they get big but to be honest I was more impressed by their support, Kill Moon, a brighton noise pop band. Last night I went to see The Fresh and Only's- not really my thing but grew into their gig when they started playing newer material.

What did you make of it? I thought Deerhunter/ Bradford did an absolutely amazing job. The Cryptograms & Microcastle shows were fantastic. Elsewhere, the Stereolab/ Derrhunter jam session was brilliant, Black Lips were great fun as always, Tom Tom Club was excellent & Ex Models and Cavern of Anti Matter were my pleasant suprises.

I missed most of Sunday but did manage to catch Pere Ubu (who managed to entirely avoid playing anything off Dub Housing) & the Andrew Hung (F Buttons) DJ set which was superb. I heard the Halcyon Digest show was excellent as well.

ATP crowds tend to be good but I really thought this was a great bunch, everyone was really friendly and up for it. They need to sort out the 2am finishes, though despite (or perhaps because of this) the chalet parties in 205 were ace. We met quite a few people in the pub watching the Lions on Saturday, which was a great way to start the day. The beach is really beautiful as well.

Complaints? The facilities in Camber are shocking compared to Minehead, the bill seemed a few bands light and the DJ line up wasn't great. I didn't enjoy Panda Bear at all (love his records & I enjoy Animal Collective live.)

It all goes a bit quiet for me now, Japandroids in July & Monster Magnet in August looks about it.

Just booked tickets for Owen Pallett at the Haunt on 10th August, after first home game of the season! Another great booking for The Haunt, they seem to be able to atrract pretty big artists for the size of the venue. Being an easy hop from London does, I suppose, help!

It's not normally the venue doing the attracting though is it, it's the promoters & I reckon Brighton currently has the most vibrant and creative promoters outside of London in the UK. I don't think it hurts that gigs here tend to be well attended as well.

I remember 10 years ago we got virtually nothing, the prevailing view amongst touring acts seemed to be if people were that bothered they'd go to London. A brilliant change for the better & hats off to the people that have made it happen.

The Congos were amazing at The Concorde last night, Glastonbury is in for a treat.

Did anyone go to PiL?

I was thinking about going to see The Congos but opted to go to PiL instead. It was dire. The venue was half empty , no atmosphere and Lydon didn't seem to engage with the crowd. The other members of the band are not a patch on Jah Wobble and Keith Levine. To be honest, it felt like I was watching a tribute band.

I could not go to this due to work. Would have done but sounds like I saved myself some money. Dome is normally an ok venue but even when sold out it feels one third empty.
