Lyrically: The Fall
Musically: Fugazi & Faith No More,

IMHO

That's a very interesting mix. I'll certainly check these guys out.

On the gig front it is Nick Cave on Sunday and Billy Bragg on Sunday.

Going to try for The Reflektors tickets tomorrow at 1oam sharp.

Good news. Hopefully they will do some more uk dates soon. Is the Berlin venue particularly large? How does the German fan base compare to here?

Tuxedo? Black tie?

I think so. I'm going to investigate hiring something today. I've never ever worn a tuxedo before so figure this is a great opportunity.

It's at the Astra Kulturhaus which has a 1500 capacity and a rather nice beer garden. Not totally sure about their fan base here. The new album peaked at number 6 and they played a 3800 capacity venue on the Suburbs tour so I'd say probably not as big as elsewhere.

Are you man enough to go for the Kirk Stevens white tux and flared trousers combo? That'd cut quite a dash...

Ha ha. I'd some hair to rock the look properly!

Wow. I thought they'd be HUGE in Berlin.

Sounds a perfect venue then- not too large, my big fear is that they will be doing stadiums here which is never the best.

I think they'll more likely play really large arenas, like they have the last couple of times they've come over. I saw them at Alexandria Palace, which was great, 10,000 or so there, and had tickets for the O2 (f***ing snow)...as HT said once before, they are a band that suits the large arena - as long as you get standing tickets!

Who knows, they might even come here and make the Centre seem acceptable!

I would be happy to see them at the Centre but maybe a bit on the small side for them? I find that the A P is a bit of a hit or miss venue with the sound being either very good or dreadful. You do need to be standing at the front for the best overall experience. I went to an All Tommorrows Parties weekend with Portishead, Grinderman and Swans amongst others and it was incrediably loud with probably too much bass especially towards the back of the main arena.

I checked the website 20 mins after they opened for sale and the gig has sold out which is unusual here; gigs sell out but mainly nearer the date. But I agree I thought they'd be big.
