Yeah. They know they've got some other fit strikers. We haven't.

At the start of the game, me and bellsize seagull said we'd give Mccammon a clean slate after not being massively impressed with his performances up til now.
I trust Mcghee and if he says he sees something he likes, on the pitch or at training then, so be it.
Then in about the 10th minute he totally shirked a defensive header on the egde of our box, which wasn't great. I didn't see him linking up with Leon upfront much and when he did, it wasn't to great effect. He seems to go out wide alot and I feel that's not where he would be best - might be better to see him attacking the box and Leon working the channels.
I'm still undecided. Like i said, if Mcghee likes him then fine, but he's gotta fix up soon. Just grab a goal off his arse or something and then maybe the goals will come.
If he sat and watched the effort and application of Hart and Virgo after he went off I hope he takes some of that on board. Virgs worked more and won more in 10 mins than Big Mac did in the 50 he was on.

Maybe the same reason Paul Reid couldn't get into a relegated Bradford team? Their managers can't recognise what their players are capable of.

...yep, on the day our best players were Reid, Yelldell (who can't get into the Blackburn team), Virgs (who couldn't get in the team under Coppell) and Chippy (who couldn't get into the team this season until he was match fit).

And match fitness is the key issue here, here's the view on Big Mac by the only person's whose opinion ACTUALLY counts.

He a donkey. He hold's the ball up welll but that is it. I can't see when he will score. I don't think he will score this season. I bet he has a lethal shot in training. But when on the pitch he just crap.

Dean White...

In all seriousness at the end of the day it the managements opinions that count, but half the fun of football, other than the drinking, is talking about the game and the different opinions that are shown. Which is why the shouting down when people show an opinion that is different to that of the clubs or the masses is so annoying, along with stock answers such as it does not matter what you think as it is McGhee's decision.

From what I've seen of McCammon he does seem to be limited in that he is a bit of a lump who runs around a lot. But the results with him in the team speak for themselves. Also he does seem to attract the attention of defenders which leaves Leon a bit more space to work in.

I'm not convinced that Iwelumo would be any better at this level, but what we don't have is any money to spend so from that perspective he's worth it

Explain the mechanics of how I am censoring you Uncle Buck by saying that Big Mac has the 100% support of the manager, will be signed by the club and will play a big part for the Albion this season? Why is your opinion "part of the fun of football" and mine "shouting down"? It's almost as if you're just not used to people disagreeing with you!

He may not score but he opens up defences for Leon to score

It was not aimed at you in particular, but it seems to have hit a nerve. Maybe you should listed to what others say sometimes.

Perhaps I could put the same challenge to you, particularly given how you wrote off Charlie Oatway's career, hmmmm?

Maybe you should stop going for petty point scoring, as it can get a bit dull.

That humbug tastes so SWEET.
