Bar the odd decision in a season, luck is not a big factor. Austin or Lambert just as an example, would be burying the chances the Albion are carving out.
Same problem for 14 months now.
Recruiment of strikers has to be the no.1 goal now.

But you are treating every match as exactly the same. And clearly they are not.

If you somehow hit the bar from two yards out when it is easier to score, that is poor finishing (and Christ knows we have seen that this season and have needed a striker for at least a year).

But today you had Orlandi hit a superb shot which (for once) beat Bogdan all ends up from 25 yards but hit the upright. Then you had Bogdan just tipping another great shot onto the woodwork. Then you had CMS doing well to win the header and unlucky to hit the bar.

There were also clear examples of poor finishing too today (which I have already mentioned). But we have run into a keeper on a worldy, and sometimes that happens.

Luck, I would agree with you, is not much of a factor over a season to a team except possibly with injuries. But in an individual game of course it can be.

Good teams score goals from all over the pitch although it is the primary job of the strikers. Our midfielders should be stepping up too. When we bought CMS he had scored 34 goals in a season, so appeared to be a good striker. Bloom is already subsidising the team, so how much debt do we want the club to get into to get another player in?

In this instance, with Dobbie and Hoskins on the bench, its Gus' fault IMO.

You can say with certainty that if they had played, we would have won? If my aunty etc etc. It's all ifs & buts. Hoskins had the chance to get a couple of shots in when he came on and chose to play it in the corner. It's stupid doing that when there's only one goal in it.

I still want to know who is responsible for coaching our strikers??? You can see Poyet/Oatway influence in the midfielder's and tanno influence on the defence but do they know how to get the best from our strikers?

I would suggest NO, getting a influential ex proven scorer to coach our boys might be a good idea.

Oh fantastic - thats good of him. So why did he leave two good finishers on the bench behind Ashley Barnes?

And again I am agreeing with you.

Barnes must have pictures of Gus in a compromising position with a young boy or something, as however else he keeps starting is beyond me.

How many times did we hit the woodwork today! Plus the missed pen...... chances are clearly there and we can clearly defend just look at table......... only one thing missing! Finishing

But he has brought in three strikers that I think most of thought considered to be decent

CMS
Hoskins
Dobbie

plus Buckley who can also play as a striker.

But he plays CMS as a lone striker, who is not famed for his hold up play, - Hoskins who has played a bit part at best for a season, and Dobbie who has play a maximum of 270 mins so far, and then puts Barnes as a striker in midfield? I don't understand. If Barnes and CMS aren't doing it, I wish he would stop moaning about it and try these other goals scorers he has signed - change for Dobbie and Hoskins.

Seagull News: the questions weren't very good. Reading between the lines, Bruno may be off if he does not get Premier League football with the Albion.

Would that be the same Bruno who was totally caught out for the goal? And at Wolves aswell? I was expecting Painter to be the weak link today but he was very steady. Bruno is brilliant offensively but has not been as good defensively recently.

Agreed with every word Gus said. He stated that he picks the team and they are set up to win but he cannot take the penalties or tap the ball in from 3 yards. Not much more that Gus can do at the moment.

You could not be more right.

You think Brighton aren't making a profit this season?

Agree, surely the 7 day a week money making machine that is the Amex must be keeping us financially stable?

We know Bloom has funded the stadium and the training facility but surely we're repaying that debt now?

And not far off being in a position to start paying decent fees?
