Nice one - I take it you will be the spotty 16 year old virgin playing trombone in the home end.

:bla:

This thread is about those that are interested in perhaps doing something to raise the atmosphere at Falmer, you are not interested so why not just leave the thread to those that do fancy it.

So you reckon 2500 people want to sing, bang a drum and wave a flag when they go to the football?

I reckon there are 100 at most.

If you want an area of the stadium, how about another area rather than the prime spot behind the goal?

We had that many making a hell of a noise at Charlton, Wycombe, Southampton, and all those games were an hour and a half up the road.
Granted not all were singing, but most were, and im sure we will attract more seeing as we will be the home team making travel etc a lot easier.....

I think the North stand won't be all that which is why I will be on the side near away fans singing heart out. Many won't want to compromise view

Surely we all need to know the best place that suits us. I take a flask to Withdean because there is no time to get a drink in the South Stand unless you plan a military style operation. I might not at Falmer. It's great when the singers get going, but I'd rather be in a quieter seated area where I can shout & sing every now and again rather than most of the time. I like to sit, but if I go to an away game I'm happy to stand and sing with all the rest. We just need to know.

I think that is the best option, its quite high there and next to the away fans (like Reading) and if we get enough of us there it could be a better alternative to the North Stand.
Plus you would have 2 sections of the ground trying to create an atmosphere.

Falmer will not get close to some of those opening photos of german fans. THERE'S NO WAY WE'LL BE ABLE TO TAKE FLAGS THAT SIZE IN!! You could ruffle someone's hair with those and poke an eye out with the pole it's on. And that's exactly what fans will try to do the minute they're allowed in with flags that big. We're not allowed to wave anything bigger than bunting in this country on a candy-floss stick. IT'S POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SO IT WILL BE BANNED. ANYONE RESISTING WILL BE ARRESTED. AND BANNED. So RIP Brighton Ultras, you don't stand a chance.

I'm in H for Yeovil, but will gladly move across to J, if the promise of singing is there. Either way, i'll be singing.

As for the North stand thing, the only thing that i think is an issue, is that 2.5 thousand might not be enough! We'd have to wait to have the cornors filled in, but if 2.5 k is too much, then surely we can encroach on either side on the East and West, filling up a few blocks worth nearst the north stand?

I've wondered whether the east stand right up next to the south is where the noise will be.

However, like someone else said, the atmosphere is usually created behind the goal. These KOP stands; Notts County, Liverpool, Leeds and others, that's where your loud fans are.

Someone else on here argued that because the north is so far from the away end this will be a disadvantage when attempting to create noise. When you look at Leeds United and where the away fans are housed, this doesn't prevent the KOP from making it the loudest part of Elland Road.

You are making assumptions it will be dull, plastic and souless - I think the standard and type of football under Poyet will help us along with making sure that doesn't happen.

So by this logic I assume you think the best atmosphere in the country can be found at the Emirates? ???

Singing stand is a good idea, but it needs to be filled with more actualy singers and people who wil disperse the groups of chavs and make them feel like dickheads if they piss about!

The reason I stated the north stand is because I often think that older fans and families want to sit side on and there is the tradition of the 'old' north stand at the Goldstone. As others have said, the noisiest part of the ground tends to come from behind one goal - Fratton park, Anfield, Holt end at Villa etc.

Be great if the Albion always looked to attack the North stand in the second half too :)

Yeah, there were never more than a hundred in the north stand at the Goldstone
It will be difficult without a terrace though.

All I am suggesting is that we should try to recreate a bit of the old north stand in the new north stand. Remember Fans United day with all the flags? That was superrrrrrb.

there will be no atmosphere at falmer. Not because of the stadium design. But because we're from rural middle class sussex. Hardly mad geordies are we? I mean, half the withdean crowd shop at country casuals.
