I wonder if the players just don't like playing in front of the home fans. Entitled fans shouting "shoot!", booing, and leaving early.
The evidence is that Tony Bloom has continually backed his managers. Hyppia resigned, Hughton was allowed to finish a season that most would have been sacked within, Potter was given time to build and eventually did, and I dare say Tony was as gutted as anyone to lose RDZ, but he had to take a stand about who is running the club at some point. All very well questioning the club on decisions, but with all the evidence of how Tony has been running things for 16 odd years, I think most of us realise who was at fault in this little saga. Sad though it was to lose RDZ, he signed his own P45.As per my response to Chailey
I would think, given everything else hadn't worked, going a bit industrial with a big lump up front might have worked if our wingers ever got round to crossing the ball, no? I quite liked it even if it didn't work.Has he explained his thought process for putting Webster up front yet ?
Entitled fans? Are you suggesting that we could actually do with a history lesson?!I wonder if the players just don't like playing in front of the home fans. Entitled fans shouting "shoot!", booing, and leaving early.
I don't think most people do believe that, I think most people realise that he had a frustration and went about it the wrong way, but the club was not entirely without fault. The evidence is that Tony Bloom has continually backed his managers. Maybe they could just focus on their day job?I wonder if the players just don't like playing in front of the home fans. Entitled fans shouting "shoot!", booing, and leaving early.

The gamble to not reinforce in January hoping our injury situation would resolve was wrong. We dashed our chances of progressing in Europa, qualifying for Europe again that season and pissed off RDZ to boot. The fact we then went and splurged 200 mill on developing players in the Summer makes it worse. It's at this point that I disagree with you. TB/PB/DW get the big decisions and their timing right. That has to be the default setting for fans until there's clear and long-running evidence otherwise.
The idea of sending your big centre half up front in the dying minutes of the match when you're chasing the game, floating balls into the box , is as old as the hills. Dunk has done it dozens of times for the Albion. Hardly that baffling.Has he explained his thought process for putting Webster up front yet ?
Its a bit old hat though, I'd like to see something a bit more dynamic from our manager. That said fully behind him, but there have been a few amateurish decisions made. The idea of sending your big centre half up front in the dying minutes of the match when you're chasing the game, floating balls into the box , is as old as the hills. It's Dreamland to think we should be beating one of Everton Southampton Palace Ipswich Wolves at home?
Old hat sometimes works though. It worked for Moyes on Saturday and we're hardly a team of cloggers so I liked that he tried something different. Its a bit old hat though, I'd like to see something a bit more dynamic from our manager. January market is always difficult, hardly any movement in this one either. We don't know whether there were unsuccessful efforts to strengthen. The £200m this summer makes it worse because impossible to imagine RDZ wasn't told there were reinforcements to come. Wasn't enough for him though was it.The gamble to not reinforce in January hoping our injury situation would resolve was wrong. So not that fully behind him thenIts a bit old hat though, I'd like to see something a bit more dynamic from our manager. That said fully behind him, but there have been a few amateurish decisions made.
A conversation with Mark McGhee who told him what a masterstroke sticking Adam Virgo up front turned out to be?Has he explained his thought process for putting Webster up front yet ?
Who is baffled ? And when was the last time it worked ? Looked like the desperate move of someone who had run out of ideas which is a bit of a worry, particularly when none of our crosses had threatened all afternoon anyway. The idea of sending your big centre half up front in the dying minutes of the match when you're chasing the game, floating balls into the box , is as old as the hills. i must admit everytime 10,000 fans should "shoooooooooot" I always think to myself how off putting that must be!I wonder if the players just don't like playing in front of the home fans. Entitled fans shouting "shoot!", booing, and leaving early.
Taking the positives, we've all got a month's respite from @Han Solo labelling RDZ The Antichrist hurrahWish people would stop pining for the Greenwood apologist. Crass
