Why don’t you mention the first half of 23/24 before the injury pile up? He were higher in the league than we are now and playing Europa league football.
Injury pile up as RDZ did hardly any fitness / training ground work it turns out

Snap shots in the box, yes,.. but none of the long range efforts seen last year.

Incorrect. You and the others who love his long range shooting have nothing to worry about, the majority of Encisos shots this season are still from distances, angles and opportunities where he has a ~1% chance of scoring. Plenty more "1 in 100" shots to come from him I suspect.

He is only 20 but I don’t see his goal ratio changing much because he simply plays how he plays.

His attitude is questionable when he doesn’t get picked, like a lot of players his age social media could well be his downfall. I think he is the player most likely to leave ‘a la Trossard’

The stats that Han Solo put up about his shots to goal ratio are quite revealing

His attitude on the pitch these last 2 matches has been brilliant but perhaps that’s in comparison to Joao Pedro’s attitude at the moment

I'd be stunned if his goal ratio doesn't improve a lot as he matures and gets experience at the top level. Harry Kane hadn't started a game for Spurs and Ian Wright and Jamie Vardy weren't even professional footballers at his age and they simply played how they played.

Fair point comparing his attitude to JPs though.

I think teams like Rennes, Nice, Twente, Heerenveen would suit Enciso better. Sorry, Don’t really rate him.
Degerfors are looking for new strikers...

Yes yes yes we get it. Armchair Swedish football experts who have never even visited Brighton on here HATE Enciso and pull out irrelevant and misleading 'facts' to substantiate their entrenched views

Meanwhile those that actually attend games like him because he gets our arses off the seats and we feel like something might happen. As opposed to tippy tapping about which we've become experts in.

Yeah that must be it mate.

Julio Enciso scoring 0 goals for us in years = misleading
Julio Enciso making you get your arse off your seat with yet another 1/100 shot = testiment of a truly great player

Thats probably how it is. You're a bright guy.

Still I have this nagging feeling that once again me and Tony are going to be in the same camp.

For the record, being a Swede, Ayari should have scored both yesterday and the game before. I like him, he’s done some progress the last six months or so, but you can’t miss shots like that. And it has nothing to do with tactics and it’s not FH’s fault either.

How many shots did Pedro have last night in his 90 mins?
3.

On average he needs ca 10 shots per goal, which is "meh" but significantly better than 50 shots per goal. Some would say "five times better".

Obvious solution, be like our other strikers and don’t shoot at all, pass the ball to somebody else when a chance comes. Stat problem solved instantly

The last thing he needs is encouragement to shoot. That is pretty much all he does. What he needs is an arm round the shoulder and a whisper in his ear to take a breath, calm down a bit when on the ball and pick the most appropriate shot or pass.
An opportunity for Zamora to show he can coach, perhaps?
I saw a lot more of him playing the appropriate shot or pass last night. His shots weren't just random hits when he should really have passed - they were probably the right thing to do in each situation, he just didn't hit the target (which is a different matter). I also thought he showed quite a lot of unselfishness, and laid off the ball a number of times when in previous matches he may have been tempted to shoot. But that was also frustrating for him, because the recipient then just messed around with it, and I don't think any decent chance eventually emerged (ie: his team-mates fannied around until it was too late) - which then probably leads him to consider shooting the next time, because why pass it if it ends up with the same result (nothing) anyway?

I’ve pointed it out on here recently but he’s statistically one of our least clinical players, really needs to work on his shooting. Could have taken all three points at Arsenal in August were it not for his poor finishing. Appreciate he’s a CM but the positions he gets into are too good for him to neglect that side of his game.

So he takes the highest number of shots and scores the least amount of goals because he thinks he is better than all his team mates?

Agree that is likely the case.
