Absolutely, Starmer and the British nations focus now, with its media, must be on 'peacekeeping' and getting troops into Ukraine.
Or just getting troops, full stop. I don’t think the present size of our armed forces will allow us to contribute much in that area.

America sitting round a table in a dictators country talking with another dictator about how to carve up the Ukraine without them being present and ignoring Europe who this also directly affects is sickening.
How has the world come to this, I am glad I am in the twilight of my years, but fear for my daughter.

Feck this world and rich, greed tw@ts like Trump, Putin & Netanyahu, the axis of evil...
Europe has become weak.
This is due to a systematic undermining of the EU by 'bad actors'
The biggest of these being Russia and China
People such as Farage have been used here,
whether eyes wide open or not

So Europe is now weak and fragmented.
All we can do is stand idly by while Trump and Putin carve up the worlds assets and resources.
while the likes of Farage applaud.

Meanwhile the most venal of our citizens, the sorts who would defraud their own families if needs must,
but who ordinarily content themselves with easier targets, like foreigners and minorities,
are lapping up all this 'anti-woke' bollocks,
because they think a few quid will be coming their way if 'we' stop all the 'handouts' and 'political correctness'.

Fair enough, but that's not my point, whether you believe it or not. (Edit: and I think you missed my sarcasm)

It all takes focus away from UKs complicit and inconsistent position with Israel over Gaza, Palestine.
The UK will obviously need to review all of its defence strategy, alliances and position now with Trumps disruption.
Unfortunately I see Starmer as the poodle who will reveal himself to be subservient to his masters, whatever comes out of his mouth. (No sarcasm)

What masters are pulling his strings?

The anti-woke stuff is just a trogan horse, enriching themselves and their mates is a main objective.

EU is weakness in the current situation isn't because of bad actors, the problem is managment by committee, unable to make clear decisions rapidly, let along act. meanwhile individual nations are hamstung from taking unilateral actions. i read they are "considering" changing fiscal rules to allow more spendingon defence. they could and should have planned for replacing US role as guarantor of Ukraine security 6mths ago.

Sorry what I meant is it is so fragmented, clunky and bureaucratic it can easily be out-foxed by bad actors. I agree with your assessment.

When we get to the point in this world where Julia Hartley-Brewer makes sense, we know things have got bad

I saw an interview with her the other day where she described Katie Hopkins as a vile bigot, so there is something else to agree with her about! :D

Trump said he could have "made a deal" for Ukraine if he were US president when the war broke out.

"I could have made a deal for Ukraine that would have given them almost all of the land," he said.

"Everything, almost all of the land. And no people would have been killed and no city would have been demolished."

What a condescending narcissistic tw@t

No, WW3 would require the US to fight back against Russian aggression. This is the US rolling over and having it’s tummy tickled by the Kremlin.

It’s a shame Ronald Reagan is dead, would love to know what he’d think of a Republican president kowtowing to Moscow.
