She worked there for the majority of a decade. FACT.
(the best part of 10 years).
That's just bollocks.I agree, so I don't find our history disgraceful. I think Britain did more good than most.
I wish that was true, sadly it isn’t.
But it's misleading to say that when it's only half of the decade 5.5 years). She worked there for the majority of a decade. FACT.
That's just bollocks.
So which global empires did nothing wrong?
It’s probably best to avoid debating the impact of Imperialism using simplistic league tables. Please tell me of the other empires that were better for the conquered nations.
You're using whataboutery to try and justify that our colonial past wasn't a disgrace. It's not worth the argument. Please tell me of the other empires that were better for the conquered nations.
Yeah that's not what I did. As far as I can tell, all empires committed atrocities. The British empire also did good things, like ban the slave trade on the seas. I don't think painting the British Empire as worse than the others is accurate. Many people attempt to paint the British Empire as a benign civilising force for good. It’s a position which doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.
It's not worth the argument.
That doesn't fit with the current narrative that Britain is awful and everything it's done is awful and should pay out reparations.Yeah that's not what I did. As far as I can tell, all empires committed atrocities. The British empire also did good things, like ban the slave trade on the seas. I don't think painting the British Empire as worse than the others is accurate.
Not sure that we have many agreements with Israel but, yes if the ludicrous Gaza land rob goes ahead.Agree with your sentiment.
Seeing as Netenyahu and Israel appear to be working together and in total agreement with Trumps dreams for Gaza, perhaps even leading the way on them, do you think it's also time for UK to review its relationship and agreements with that nation?
I agree. Sometimes Monty Python's 'whatever good did the Roman's do for us?' is cross-transferable.I agree, so I don't find our history disgraceful. I think Britain did more good than most.
¼Not sure that we have many agreements with Israel but, yes if the ludicrous Gaza land rob goes ahead.
I knew it was a land grab from the minute they started shelling and obliterating peoples homes in Gaza and Palestine. It would appear they are doubling down on their plans.
Yes, the UK has many agreements with Israel, both trade and defence, and does not recognise Palestine. It's position on Israels land rob, who has also obliterated Gaza, is far from consistent with Russia.

So much going unreported now
Not the framers as well?! Scenes.I knew it was a land grab from the minute they started shelling and obliterating peoples homes in Gaza and Palestine.
So much going unreported now, about framers having their land taken from them and arrested.
I am beginning to hate Israel, and that is not healthy, god knows how the locals feel, I would be apoplectic with rage and hatred.
