He knows exactly what he thinks, and what he thinks about.

Carve up the world between the US and Russia, keeping the pesky Chinese in its place.
He cares about China a lot. & everything is a financial deal. He has no ethics or morals. Gain peace = more business with Russia & resources from Ukraine. That's all he cares about = $

A reality check in what is happening to the US; attacks on the media, the judiciary and the constitution

The road to authoritarianism

Meanwhile the bottom 170 million hold less wealth than the richest 3 individuals

The road not taken in 2016…

Brighton factually.....
Trump administration now wants Andrew Tate & his brother’s passports returned in Romania
Nothing to do with his being a right wing, misogynistic, alleged trafficker and pedo influencer I guess.

probably end up head of women’s welfare in the new Trump administration

Sorry what I meant is it is so fragmented, clunky and bureaucratic it can easily be out-foxed by bad actors. I agree with your assessment.
I don't think there are many other ways to deal with such a massive and varied thing as Europe. They are outmanoeuvred by these other nations because they have dictators running things for a lifetime. That kind of consistency lets you play really, really long games. This is all very well known in game theory. China for example has been playing the long game for decades. Take over production of all raw materials by outpricing everyone, using your overwhelming 'humans on low pay' advantage. This is a temporary advantage and he knows it. But the playbook on this part is simple to describe *but incredibly hard to execute if you don't control a nation);

Dominate raw materials so everyone else goes out of business
Gain industry knowledge from everywhere you can, using every means possible (industrial espionage, bribery, blackmail, corruption, just good old honest education, etc)
Move up the value chain (beneficiation) so you start producing tools and products from the raw materials, now competing with the people who are buying raw materials from you
Out compete on price
Then out compete on value (quality vs value)

And then there are their soft power plays. They've been running their 'belt and road' initiative for over a decade, and spent over a trillion dollars building infrastructure in other nations around the world.

They are so far ahead that it's shocking. Most European politicians know this, but it's very much a wicked problem, and ultimately someone else's issue.

Let's hope China don't have expansion aspirations in their 100-year plan.

So anecdotally on social media it seems like people are pointing to a victory over 'woke' as the main benefit of a Trump government.

Given that we never really managed to define what woke means it seems the culture wars have been won. The victory being that people have been persuaded that a undefined notion has rocketed to the top of people's priorities. Above the cost of living, the constitution, facism, the environment and all the rest of it .

At some point people will study this era and be aghast at how we fell for this shit. Much like us, when we learned about yhe lead up to WWII I suppose.
You assume that this era will have an end when more than likely things will just get stupider and stupider

TLDR version, if Trump says it’s legal it now is and nobody is allowed to challenge this

That is effectively an executive order enabling a dictatorship to develop. Presumably it would even cover lawyers employed by the government and so on - who could find themselves being unable to state the law as it is, because it contradicts what Trump says. In essence, it means that Trump can set and dictate the law.

I'm sure it'll be fine.

It's not like he's cosying up with religious fanatics or tech bro oligarchs or literal Russian dictators and now has unchecked power to enact anything he damn pleases to support and enrich the people pulling his greasy puppet strings.

Surely this is going to be challenged?
