Not sure whats worse, adults needing to use a straw or adults getting annoyed about which type of straw they use

And, as seems likely, the Trump administration ignore the legal system, and the juidgements coming from the courts, what happens then? The courts / judges don't have a dedicated police force, and the 'regular' police are unlikely to want to enforce judgements that reverse any of the decrees. Once you have igored the rule of law, where is the line then? Is the US consistution still in effect? Feels like we're a lot closer to a coup than we think.
I postulated that there might be a major political Civil War or mass disobedience if Trump pushes his looney policies too far. Americans are tied hand and foot to their Constitution and I could see many refusing to obey Trump's orders if they conflict with those rules.

For instance, take Trump's ludicrous Gaza ambitions. Would US servicemen obey orders to enter Gaza and forcefully eject Palestinians in order for Trump to own Gaza as his " Real Estate " ? Would military planners resign or refuse to organise this illegal intervention ?

Trump is obviously quite mad but eventually " something " will need to be done.

Surely the crackpot's got enough cash to buy a metal straw if he really needs one, ffs
Metal straws are brilliant. We use them every day, give ‘em a quick rinse. No need to keep buying more.

I‘m going to try one for my coffee tomorrow.

Why don`t you postulate the shit show starmer is making of this government , and the systematic dismantling of this country as a great nation ? .

Starmer dismantling the great nation??

The best one could suggest is that he is shovelling the ashes into the bin.

Thatcher began the dismantling, Blair and Brown started selling the parts and Call me Dave put the rest in the incinerator.

Sadly everyone fell for the neo liberal gaslighting. . . . and many still are.

There’s a separate thread for the Labour government. Its title is quite clear, as is this one.

for Gaza, read between the lines, Trump wants the Arab world to come up with a solution. he offers a brainfart without any real plan, but with enough sincerity everyone believes him and panics. it's true the place is an uninhabitable ruin and needs rebuilt, but he must know he cant literally turf them out, and Jordan and Egypt wont take them, so what can he want? a solution from them, that stops them continuing to harbour Hamas and friend. maybe Saudi and others pay for the rebuild and recognise Israel formaly.

But with Trump's new tariffs on steel and aluminium metal straws will be unaffordable to the average American. Only the wealthy will be able to afford a metal straw.
